Hrm..maybe Anniebel. It just seemed that I hit the PP button, it completed the order but never took me anywhere to sign in and pay like most PP orders do. I usually have enough money in store credit, but since it just ticked over, I was a bit short since I had loaded up on steampunk stuff from the sale.

When people sign up for FB and let it import their email contacts to find friends...if you are in THEIR contact list it will connect you as a friend suggestion. I believe it also sends out an invite at the same time if they let it. Explains why you can get a friend request and you don't have a FB account. To accept it you have to sign up. Creepy marketing technique, but not unexplainable. It does however show you who is not being careful with YOUR info and shares that info with FB and who knows who else just because FB "suggested" they to do it when they signed up.

You could probably just import a background from the menu. No shadows at all that way and no props to worry about, except the ones on the bottom, where they would fall naturally anyway (except if you are supposed to be close to a wall or something). Just move the camera in or out to position your subject on the background.

Or if you do it the PNG way, use the BG import to position, then turn off the background picture, render and drop it into Photoshop over the background. I use a layer style with a colored inner glow to simulate the lighting colors if I don't get the lighting effect I want on the render itself and a slight dropshadow with a wide spread to add depth. I sometimes add a gradient layer style as well if needed. Either way you can change the layer style as much as you want. You can also hue adjust the BG in Photoshop too independantly of the front PNG layer, so you can change the whole tone of the image without re-rendering anything. Takes all of about 10 minutes of work.

It's not really up to the vendors to advise about the state of the site, therefore some of us, while perhaps wanting to say something, don't feel we have the authority to do so since we're not the site owners.  All we can really do it say hang in there...it will be soon. Otherwise we're making assumptions or speaking out of turn.

As far as "I" know, being an RDNA vendor myself, everything is fine, just taking a bit longer than expected, and the site will be brand-shiney new when it reappears. I don't have any more info than that...except to hope Syyd is hanging in there as best she can because she's been really stellar to work with and all other dealings I've had with RDNA have been first rate. I have no reason NOT to expect a great new site when it comes back online.

Online Video tutorials from the Mark Bremmer...I'm doing the Carrara set now and love it and doing Poser 7 just because. It's already been worth the 30 bucks a month and I've only had it about 2 weeks...you can get them on CD too. His style is perfect for newbies...mellow and reassuring..LOL.

True..but I do like that I can use more realistic skins on her. Never got into the original girl much, but these looked fun to play with. I just thought his face was quite cute. The only reason I used A3 or 4 was for clothes since that mesh seemed to have more interesting stuff made for it than V3 or 4.

Having picked up XDresser, I've been more selective in what I buy because I have the option to do a refit myself, although I haven't actually done one. I had to load it on my other intel Mac since it's a PC program and haven't made it over to do any serious work, but it did change my buying habits.

I've kind of turned off my buying impulses except for big sales where I think I'll get some good deals being so busy with work and also building my own site as a vendor. When I'm not doing that, I've been TRYING to learn modeling so I can stretch my skill somewhat and make what I can't buy instead. So far 10 hours of Carrara training and I can make a pot and a stick...and lame ones at that..LOL.

But having picked up a few cool things lately I want to take some time off and just do some art for art's sake. Need a brain break! And these looked like something, while not anime (which I don't really like), are still toony which is different than my usual style.

 What about Jim's "Guy" Sean? I like him...he seemed like he might sort of fit your style.

I do like that you can dial in aspects of GIRL, AIko and V4 now..although I haven't actually tried it yet. Downloaded the free base, going to pick up Guy when vouchers come out since it will only be about $5, but I'm not sure how much add on stuff I'll buy.

If you know..is it possible with XDresser to effectively fit some of the Koshini/Ichiro clothes to something like Girl or a version of Aiko/V4? LF makes some of the coolest clothes even if they are quite a bit older.

I bring layered tiffs into Poser all the time. Works in 6 and 7 for me. That way I can change things on my layered tiff until I get my textures just right. Then I save them out as jpegs and re-apply as finals.

I don't know about the Mat files, since I don't usually save those and probably wouldn't for a final product, but they DO work in Poser. And I'm not using any special script..just hooking them up straight in the material room like normal.
