Tony, I'm sorry I think you misunderstood. For example, I have a pair of gloves that have a texture applied, but I want to have a material setting that will apply a trans without overriding the existing material. How do I save this mat file? Do I need to edit the mat file in note pad?

Thank you by the way. I increased it to 50. And I took out the other 2 lights and have just the 'main' one. The graininess has gone away. Now I just ned to work on setting up that single light so that it looks right lol.
Thanks again!

But I am still learning lighting and don't know how to set up a single "sun" light, and it look realistic.

I know for poser there is a setting in render settings to 'smooth polygons'.
Check and see if the smoothing is turned on in studio. In the scene, click on v4, then go to the surfaces tab, scroll down to the verry bottom and there is a node that says 'smooth'. It should already be in the 'on' position. Check that. Thats the only way I know. But I just started using studio.

But I don't think this is the one I saw... it is close though.
Thread: Pixelated thumbs?? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I figured it out :)
I didn't see the bar at the bottom under the library pane that said "view options" when hovered over it lol. It was set at 91, but most of the thumbs still looked pixelated, so I bumped it up a notch and it fixec most of them. A lot of the newer products, sometimes people use 100x100 thumbs.

LOL
And you were right. It was the reflect nodes that kept making it have a harsh line. I wasn't sure where to plug in the image node, so I just unpluged everything from the reflect lol. It looks much nicer :)
Thank you all for the help!

Yes Laurie :) My friend did use it lol.
Didn't think it was that noticeable. ;)
It's kind of embarrasing that I don't know the material room that well...
