Thread: OT - Steve Irwin (Crocodile Hunter) dead | Forum: Community Center
On YouTube there is a video of Steve Irwin crying at the site of a dead crocodile and I think that one shot says a lot about him. He cared so deeply for these animals. He knew the risks, and while they may have seemed needless to the average viewer, he felt they were worth it to be in their presence, to learn, so he could teach us about the world that very few are aware of. I think it's hard for a lot of people to understand that level of passion that fueled Steve Irwin's life. I will miss his amazing passion and upbeat look at life and I hope wherever he is now, there is plenty of gators and animals for him to be with. RIP Steve.
Thread: ART CHARTS OPEN! | Forum: Community Center
Well it's an interesting concept, except it's heavily weighted toward the Poser gallery, as it seems out of the top 50 images, 40 were poser and the other 10 were divided amongst other software. Perhaps a per software gallery like the Hot20 would help. As to popularity, I agree with the feedback loop theory, but we shall see. I still don't know why this whole "competition" thing has to exist anyway. Giving viewers a random showcase of people's best works would go a long way toward everyone getting exposure fairly.
Thread: A few remarks about the new forum format | Forum: Community Center
:b_grin: Not bad, like the new format and got to go find my usual avatar later on that I use other places. Seems pretty fast tonight. The slowness probably had to do with converting lots of data in a fairly short time. I think they did pretty good on the conversion. Haven't trie dthe search as of yet.
Thread: Make the "nudity" flag add a disclaimer to thumbnails like the "violence" flag? | Forum: Community Center
I'm for this because sometimes you show the gallery to others and you don't always want to go through the hassle of hitting the nudity flag off and on. This way you have a guide to the ones that contain nudity as well. Always appreciate the ones that mark them as such in their title. And no, I'm not against nudity and look at a lot of the pinups, but sometimes I do show Rosity to people not so artistically enlightened.
Thread: I for one am not a fan of the new window that opens up everytime I click a pic | Forum: Community Center
Ever since I started using Opera to look at Rosity, it's alot easier. The new window thing didn't bother me as much as the new window didn't open in full screen in IE. Opera allows all tabs to open in full screen, which is easier...
BTW, should not be hard to have it open one window and keep using the same window with a little javascript and a name for the window in the open call.

Cheney begins his campaign against tort reform by showing he's hardcore... ------------- At least the lawyer didn't have to chase the ambulance this time... ------------- This is a bird. This is a lawyer. Any questions Cheney? ------------- He shot a man in Texas, just to watch him die... Some of the ones I've heard on other sites...
Thread: Weird happenings in the gallery | Forum: Community Center
As I said in the other thread, I don't mind the new window as much as I minded the fact that you cannot force the new window to open in full screen in IE. However, I did find a freeware program that fixes that. But I do agree with Shardz. Quite a few of the people are not going to change their browsers/mouse buttons to accomodate the change. They'll just go elsewhere. I don't buy the argument that the SQL server now runs better because of that change. If the pages are cacheable, it shouldn't take anymore processor/bandwidth to do the back versus the open window.
Someone mentioned how the popups get by their popup blockers. That is because most blockers only stop popups that result as a function of opening/closing a page. They don't filter ones that open as a result of a click, as these are considered voluntary. Though there are some that block them all.
Thread: When did this happen? | Forum: Community Center
I don't mind the new window as much as having to set the new window in full screen, which I use when surfing on Rosity, but I found a freeware program that "fixes" that by telling the browser to open to full screen automatically when it opens a window, so that will work. I realized you could click on the image to close (which is pretty good), after posting the message.

If anyone needs a tutorial for Pepper's Ghost in Vue and Bryce, they can find one I wrote up on my site from the thread that was originally mentioned by Raven, who did a great job in converting it to Poser.http://www.shadowwindmanor.com/tutorials.html
Thread: OT: Heart goes out to those in Katrina's Path | Forum: Community Center
Gas is $3.19-$3.29 from what I hear in the Michigan area from a friend. Here in Florida, it's still about $2.73 in our area thus far, but that's sure to climb probably over the next few days. It's not just the refining, but the fact that alot of the Gulf oil rigs were shutdown or are damaged and speculation has a lot to do with gas prices as the cost of each barrel goes up. The news is horrific out of that area and my thoughts are with them. I think it would be a good idea to give to the Red Cross who will be instrumental in getting all of this done. ShadowWind

I'm so sorry to hear that Debbie, just getting caught up on the hurricane news. Terrible stuff. Well it's good though that you are safe and as they say things can be replaced. Hang tough...
