I tend to be more active in winter. Each year I pitch for a commission for the Space Foundations Symposium held yearly in Colorado. So from September to November I use Bryce a lot. Mostly for models and landscapes, then space backdrops done with Photoshop. Then I tend to do a couple of other images for myself. Not as full on as back in the day where I would be using Bryce daily. There's a good group on Facebook run by old time Brycer Wolfgang Sigl. It's called Bryce Paradise. A few from here post, such as Carl Traversi aka Sbleci, and Steve Winter. Even Rochr has been known to pop in from time to time. Oh and somebody we all know who used to run this place Kirk Dunne aka Agent Smith. Well worth checking out to see what Brycers are up to.

Ah thanks. I propose transport as the next theme. So as long as there is a form of transport in the image that's fine.

Thread: Long "renders to disk" question | Forum: Bryce
Told this before, but back in 2007 I had a commision for the National Space Symposium. The image needed to be rendered large enough to be used on bill boards and 30 ft display screens on the main stage.
Having never done this sort of thing before I naively rendered it on my machine at 2000 pixels wide at 300dpi. It took a whole week to do on my ageing machine which had a 15gb hardrive and 256 mb ram. I emailed it over and of course they came back and said it was way too small. I explained my situation and they decided the best thing to do was have me send the scene file over on a cd so they could do it themselves.
They had purchased what they termed a super computer to handle the task, but it still took 6 weeks to render. The thing was, there were gaps in the terrain which I had smoothed over with the clone tool originally, but they displayed it raw, which still annoys me today.Still it hangs in the foyet of their office next to a poster designed for an earlier event by none other than Ralph Mcquarrie so that makes up for it.

Pumeco, what you said is very true. I hope we can breathe some life back into it.

I just got a new 'puter. Â 8 core! Still mostly doing Carrara (pardon my French) but as I was reinstalling everything to the new PC I got a little pang of sadness/rememberings about Bryce. Â Maybe I'll fire it up and see what happens. Â Brycers are always the most helpful and R'osity Brycers doubly so.
Miss those days.

I'm the same mate. Coming on here and the number of active threads had dwindled to 5 !?! Used to be 5 or more new threads everyday. I've been over on the Bryce Forum at Daz which is far more healthy. It just feels like cheating though tbh as this place is where it began for me.Â
However there are a few quality images in the gallery here so thats not died a death yet.

I didn't need to go watch the waves. They came right on by my door...................
Hope they didn't wash that comfy chair away.

Thought I could upload 3 images per 24 hours but evidently that has been reduced to 1 a day unless you pay a $5 per month subscription fee.
No it only links to my homepage or whoever elses who clicks the link.
Heres the link you need
