For anyone that's new to the Bryce challenge here are the rules.Could someone tell me about the challenge theme for August and if there are any special rules for creating it?
It may be right under my nose.. :)
but I haven't found anything refering to the challenge for August...except in this thread.
I'm new to this forum and to Bryce so please have a little patience. :D

Welcome AnnieD!
The new challenge this time is a bit different than other times b/c our moderator is missing for a bit, and so we are improvising in setting up this challenge. As a result, there are two or so other threads with info. In short, the challenge is a garden theme.. Secret Garden. There are some rules to follow.. the link is posted in this thread as well as the within the main forum. Here are some additional links.. of two other threads that might shed some more light:

Welcome to Bryce!
Thank you for the friendly welcome! :D and thanks for the links.
I saw the rules link that seems to cover rules in general.
Are there any special rules for the Secret Garden challenge?
I read that whoever picks the challenge can also set some rules concerning it?
Is it ok to import models into Bryce for the secret garden image?
Does it have to contain anything special?
Sorry for all these questions. lol but this would be the first challenge I've ever entered and I'd like to get it right.

Hrm. Well, what was explained to me when I did a challenge is that besides the main rules, I could make additional restrictions. It's up to the one making the challenge to determine how much postwork is to be allowed, whether to allow non-Bryce objects (imported stuff from like... Poser or something), etc. Overall, though, it really must be a Bryce render, not something like.. a 2D image rendered in Bryce... and the focus of the theme must be the subject matter. But the one who made the challenge really must be the one to clarify all this.
Yes the theme is to create a secret garden, you can use imports and postwork. The guidelines regarding postwork is that it should be used to enhance the image but not to dominate it.
Welcome by the way!

Thanks very much!
I'm pretty new to Bryce but I've been using Daz Studio for about a year.
I don't know much about postwork yet, so I won't be doing that. :D
If I understood everything right..we are to upload the picture into our gallery and then place a link to it here in this thread? Then if anything changes someone will post a notice here?
Again..thanks for your patience with a newbie. :)
And thanks for the welcome!
Annie

Ok, here is my entry, I don't remember where I got the stone mat from, but the wood is a Bryce preset, and I made the benches myself. There is no post work, as I have no other 3D program other than Bryce, and really don't know how to any way.Attached Link: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1505065

Well I haven't done one of these for a long time. Heck I haven't even used Bryce in what seems forever. I feel like I have to re-learn everything again. There are a lot of things worse than dying, being afraid all the time would be one.
Some very nice entries here............

No time to do any more to it, I may need to be away for a few days.Even devils like a hobby, as long as they can keep it secret...

Ok no probs Death. I'd say soon as your entry is in then we close. So just make a note to that effect when you are in. I'll then start a vote thread.

As Agentsmith is awol at the moment and we want to keep the challenge alive we will have to improvise. The usual way of doing things is to have an upload page for all entries, but if AS doesn't show up then a temporary solution would be this. Post your entries into the gallery and post a link here. Voting will start on the 1st September in a new thread as long as there are enough entries, I'd say minimum 10. Voting will last a week and will close on the 7th. If Zhann manages to drop by please could you sticky this thread.
Cheers
Joe
