I miss Catlin MC too... and Alvin, most of all. Good ole' Alvinylaya... :)
and Jordan? (aka Woodhurst)? Is he still around?
Sbleci?
Yep, Angela, the pics thread was really cool... maybe we should do that again. :D

Ha! Good to "see" you again... :D
I'm really happy to contribute some, at last, to the community... I remember all the times I used other people's texs ;)
Keep an eye on that account, it will be updated very often. I've added a "filename convention" too for helping reducing search times.
As for my being "between homes", sigh... it's nearly 3 years that I move every 3 or 4 months... hopefully the next one will be my final settlement. I'm searching, but it's not easy. ^_^
And as soon as I will find it, my real PC will come up from the basement (is so tight packaged that is safe, tho) and I will finally do some other XSI again. In the meanwhile, I'm into photos and I'm studying hard XSI theory videocourses... [always a nerd, I am :)]
Quest, Angela, Danamo, ICM, morte_a_mezzanotte (italian for "Death At Midnight")... may all your renders be very short! ;)

hi, pal :)Â Â Â No, no kidding. XSI is an infinite app, plus I had some troubles that took me away from 3D world for a long time. You add these two things together and, lo, I'm still learning :)
I don't know about other people... I'd say no, they don't want any real criticism, but it's only my opinion. The last image I posted, I asked for crits and I received them, mostly useful, some pointing at flaws I had already detected in my pic. So, it depends on who's asking? Maybe... maybe people who know me know also that I accept serious criticism without problems (and also with gratitude) and they don't fear to offend me stating boldly what sucks in my image(s).
Stefano.
PS: Drac, may I hug you? :-p

Later, I began craving criticism. I'd reached a point where I felt it would help me improve. That's when I finally took a deep breath and began a gallery at RO. Lo and behold, I was surprised to see how the commenting had changed. Gone seemed to be the critiques and helpful suggestions for improvement in lieu of gushing, overdone comments. Don't get me wrong - some images here are truly excellent and deserve the accolades they receive. But IMVHO, definitely not all.
I think she's right. After a long while, I returned to the galleries, and I saw the comments are really changed from the past. That's why, now that I'm learning XSI, I almost always flag the "critical preferred" option in the comments tab. It's really a matter of choice: if you are here to improve, then you simply must be happy to receive criticism, because here's full of talented people and you can only learn from them. Otherwise, no problem: you want hugz and kizzez, you have them aplenty, but... to what use?
Just my 2 Euros (you know, inflation times here in Italy) :)

Whoa Drac old sport!
I like this a lot... how are you, my friend? Great cool modeling improvement since I was there last time.
How are the RenderGods doing?
A big hug.

I don't have words, really. Sylvie was one of the first people here to talk with me about graphics, and soon our exchange became very similar to a dear friendship. I owe her so much: advice, sympathy... No, stop the words. Sylvie was lovely. My thoughts and feelings goes to her family and her friends. I will always have a place for her in my heart. Stefano

Ouch... did I miss another quarry? Sigh... I just love them... ;-) "You're handsome, you're pretty, Queen of New York City" "Happy Christmas your ***" "And the NYPD choir was singing... and the bells are ringing out..." Now, that's a song! Stefano

Thread: Piano WIP | Forum: Bryce
Hi Phillip. As you already know, I commented on this one on CGT. I'm really honored to be an inspiration to you: I admire a lot your works with Bryce and this is really flattering. Pianos are very difficult to model, with my "Steinway" I did the same: I didn't model what the viewer couldn't see :) And, as far as modeling goes, if you look at mine you'll see that I really messed up the black keys, modeling them way more square like they are in reality. If you're interested in some very detailed reference drawings of all the parts of a Grand Piano, I have them. They're also orthographic, so you can use them to draw upon. I should have a couple of Steinway logos somewhere on my HD. Just IM me and I'll send them to you. I really want to try one in XSI, but I'm waaaaaay behind the modeling skills needed to complete such a complex work. S.

Those new Lemog textures are just great. He did an image with them, I think you can find it in his gallery here. Quite impressive collection. S.

There's also a beautiful small app to create text to import in Bryce, called Elefont. I don't have the link right now (I'm not at home) but you can do a search. It's free and intuitive at the max. S.

Yes, that's it... very low poly. I'm trying to avoid showing some people near the camera, because I still don't have a clue on how to model characters... (ehm...) Stefano
