some free stuff i made
and
for almost daily fotos
Modeling & lighting(especially the soft shadow) are top notch. The use of space & POV is fantastic. WTG Pal.

(oops) After closer inspection, I noticed the shadow cast changes position on each main vessle. Seems there is an invisible light source close to them. If this scene is solar lit, would the shadow cast be more consistent? Not so much a critique as an observation.

The modeling is awesome. the amount of detail on those are just great. Looking forward to see more of this. And as ICM said, the shadows and lighting is very nice.
Unfortunatly i cant post the backdrop just yet, but there is a distant star thats casting the brightest light, about where the dot is.
Not sure if the end result will be accurate in terms of realism, but then again, the expanse should be a somewhat mysterious place. :)

Heheh, my thoughts... unprintable. Suffice to say, I like it a lot :) Just curious - how big do you envisage the hexagonal "disc" structures as being - kilometers in diameter, or 100s of meters?

Flak, Kilometers. Ill be having one of the cargo vessels closer to the cam, which will have those tiny, tiny city lights as well. :)

Ah, so the cargo vessels (docked and the one in flight) are bloody monstrous as well then.
The reason I was asking was that I was wondering how you were going to convey the scale of things, but having a close up cargo vessel covered with the tiny city lights should do it.

Yeah, the pic of the cargo vessel against the background really does convey the size of them. Am really looking forward to seeing the end result having now seen the wips/tests.

Still more stuff to add. A few more array-groups spread across the scene, more ships around them, as well as a larger cargo vessel closer to the cam.
Luckily ive already finished up the background, so its easier to place everything.
Anyway, let me know what you think. :)
