Gabe, the mouth is looking really good, all muscles are morphing as they should, great job! there's no "showing teeth for the sake of it" that sometimes comes with these expressions, nor an excessive pulling up of the corners of the mouth. That has to be one of the best smiles I've seen for Poser chars. As for the eyes, I agree with Timberwolf. For what I remember, genuine smiles tend to also engage the eyelids a touch (and I mean TOUCH, it's almost imperceptible), although I would expect that if you can dial those normally, they shouldn't come added into the morph and could be added to taste by the user.
Thread: Some Vendor Products won't install | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The "item did not install correctly" error comes up on my Win7 machine all the time with some of the previous generation installers. This is -mostly- caused by Windows stopping the Readmes from launching in the browser. This is purely a Win7 issue, the items should work fine.
If the installers are not working at all (i.e. they don't run), you can always request a download refresh and download the latest, then try to run that. Make sure the size of the file on your machine matches the size of the file listed in your downloads. Sometimes the downloads just get corrupted, it happens to me everywhere, not just DAZ.
Also, a good idea is to run the installers as an administrator (left click, run as admin); otherwise, even if you are logged in as the admin, you'll get a problem.
Thread: Render Queue problem in PP2010, "FFRender failed to launch". Help? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Necroposting to let people know that the issue is now SOLVED, and since someone else has it and haven't been able to find explanations on what is going on or how to sort it out.
I was running PoserPro 2010 64 bits version and only had that installed, but for some reason there were some "remains" (including Firefy and Queue Manager) in the x86 folder that were installed there (not by me, I did a full system wipe a couple of months ago when I updated the OS; I suspect they were put there when I installed PP2010; my initial installation did NOT tick the "install also 32-bits version")
I was asked to re-install PoserPro 2010 again, this time making sure the 32bits file were running. I then updated and, since I've had some permission issues with other programs and sorted them this way, made sure that Queue Manager was marked to run as Administrator. That has done the trick, and all is now working.

Robyns, John is the person dealing with me right now and has very dismissively insisted that I somehow "corrupted an installation" by assuming I double-installed the Queue manager, that I should upgrade the nodes I'm trying to run on other machines when I said from the get go that I was trying to run a local job... you get the idea. He is answering promptly, I'll give you that; just not answering my specific problem and instead making a batch of assumptions.
Did you manage to sort it out? if so, how?
Latest test I've run shows that if I put FFrender.exe to "run as administrator" by default, it doesn't run from within Poser, period. So I'd lost all rendering capabilities. Whee!
(also, can you share your OS/setup to see if there are any similarities with mine? Might help nailing down what is causing this, since I get the feeling I won't get much usable help from SM)

The alternative locations was for content libraries. This isn't a question of content libraries but of render queue and the Firefly Renderer (FFrender.exe and FFrender64.exe).
As I said, this setup used to work under Windows Vista; still using SR1 and still using Norton, without any problems whatsoever. And as I said, if there are known issues of running Render Queue from the Program Files folder in Win7, then I am amazed that there's nothing about it under the knowledge base at SM (and of course that the tech support didn't mention this either).

Where the programs installed by default, in the Program Files folder. Exact same location it was under Win Vista and worked.
I know Win7 (and Vista) have a fit if you want to copy or alter files in there, but have never encountered problems with just running them, and you'd think that being the default installation location, they would have piles of problems listed under support about it. Doesn't seem to be the case.
If it is indeed an UAC problem, there's nothing from Windows itself telling me Firefly is blocked from running, though. Just the little notice on Render Queue.

Probably not. I'm an administrator and I've tried running things both "normally" and set up specifically to run as an admin without luck, so unless there's something else requiring special permissions that I'm not aware of, it shouldn't be the case.
Thread: P8 Library Nightmare | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Bagginsbill, how would we do that? By changing the searchindexed attribute on each line of the library to 0?
And just a suggestion, if it does cause so much trouble, wouldn't it be a good idea to have poser save the library prefs without it?
Thread: P8 Library Nightmare | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Vista. I'm running as an Admin now and that has sorted out the issue, although without that "fix it does that to all libraries, including those outside the ProgramFiles folder. But meh, compared to what it was doing before, having to run it as an admin is nothing.
Thread: P8 Library Nightmare | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ok, in the interest of fairness, the main problem with my library (being unable to save) has been sorted out. it took me up until 5am troubleshooting, and 4 more hours this morning, but for the most part it appears to be fine.
The culprit was windows indexing. I've got no idea why the library was relying on it to list files, but it was getting hung up somehow. I started suspecting it was corrupted as Outlook keep having issues with speed search (also done through indexing). After trying without luck to turn indexing off for the HDD, I had to kill the indexing process, turn off windows search from the start up, reboot the machine, verify that things were not loading automatically, and test... and P8's library worked. So in the end I had to rebuild Windows' index, which took quite a while, but things seem to be running fine now.
PP2010 is now refusing to save to library unless I am running the program as an admin, but comparing with crashes, I'd think that's a minor issue.
Btw, the library is still a bit slow to load, and not 100% reliable when it comes to show ALL that is in the folders, but that's a different issue.

I've been having a similar nightmare and I'm about to throw P8 and PoserPro 2010 in the bin. The new libraries are a NIGHTMARE and they never, EVER worked right on my rig, from day one of release. My problem is that the program freezes on updating (adding runtimes, saving poses, characters, presets, etc) so a program that I bought to use as a working tool is useless for developing content, which happens to be what I do for a living.
No amount of upgrades, tweaking, SRs or changes has caused the library to behave when adding. Which is a pity since I rather like the new interface, and I would rather use it preferentially.
I've now resorted to killing some suspect processes in Windows, and will be doing fresh installs and trying again while I work with the SM people to try and sort it out. But I'm not holding my breath.
Thread: Freak 4 in Poser...? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ah my bad. Misread what you were saying, my apologies. I'm having a similar conversation elsewhere where people asked about having to apply morphs to each part, must have crossed wires and mistook one thread for the other.
Anyway, even if you do this scaling, you do get pokethroughs when posing, and for someone that is only now figuring crosstalk (like Whichway), I think adjusting fall-off zones might be a bit too much, and I'm still not sure things would work properly on most cases.
For what is worth, I've heard both from SM and DAZ that they had been in touch about getting this scaling for clothing issue worked. So we can cross our fingers and hope that we'll see a fix for this soon so we don't need to do any more juggling of dials.
Thread: Freak 4 in Poser...? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You're welcome :) I know people do find crosstalk a bit annoying, and as creators it can be a chore to get it into each item, but when you're dealing with the new figures with so many different morphs, it is the way to go to make life easier on everybody.
If you have any further problems or questions, feel free to send me a PM.
Thread: Freak 4 in Poser...? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
As I mentioned above, make sure you've got M4/F4 selected with each clothing item you load. That's the way to have crosstalk working. So...
... you get the idea.
Thread: Freak 4 in Poser...? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
the FreakScale4 resizes the chest up to 114% (up from 100%, so it's just a 14% increase). So you're loosing some size but not all, what Indigone showed above is F4 with scaling at 100% in Poser, so you're not really missing THAT much.
This is Freak 4 with and without scaling in Poser (FreakScaleOn to 1 on the left, 0 on the right):
As for Mafioso, I've got no idea what you are doing. But following the procedure I outlined above (load F4, dial FreakScaleOn to 0, load clothing and conform) I've got this without needing any adjustments:
Both of the above were captured from PoserPro. Of course they are not renders, but just screencaps.
