Thread: And at long last, a peace fell over the land.... | Forum: Community Center
I miss the C&D forum. There was nothing better than watching a good train wreck after a hard day at work. ;)

Hey, the tavern burned down way before I came blazing in, so neener, neener
So I'm guessing they had a helluva party in there and someone got playing around with high explosives? I hate it when that happens.
Happy New Year Everyone!

Thread: Heya Folks! | Forum: Vue
Thanks everyone! Good to see your still around here Cheers. :-)
I'm having a bit of a time getting started again. All my content is scattered across multiple cd's in no particular order. Maybe this time around I'll organize things better.

Thread: Bryce 6 vs Vue Esprit 5 or Vue Esprit 6 | Forum: Vue
Hobbit is one of my absolute favorites here but he does alot of postwork in Photoshop (not that thats a bad thing) plus he has more raw talent than I'll ever have.

I've been having a blast learning Wings. By all means Spike, start a forum here for it! Rich

You can always export from Poser as .obj and import into Vue. I think you would be better off rendering in Vue especially if you have any kind of complex light and shadow going on. BTW- What ever happened to Varian after he stepped down as a mod? Has anyone heard from him? Rich
Thread: Scanners | Forum: Photoshop
I'm seriously thinking of starting a part time business doing photo retouching and restoration since I've been doing it for free for a while now. If I do, I think I'll get the Epson 2450 (about $400 US). From everything I've read about it in forums and reviews it appears to be an excellent scanner. Rich

Thread: Has anybody noticed that plants in vue are not transparent? | Forum: Vue
Just edit the current transparency production filter, add a point to it, move the new point all the way to the left, and move it up and down to adjust the transparency. Moving the right side down, as some of the clipping filters are set, seems to reduce the transparency of the mask as a whole instead of just the intended leaf shape. Rich
Thread: Realism? | Forum: Photoshop
That looks great! What render settings did you use? If your having problems with the render being blurry I would go ahead and render in user mode and at least 16 subrays per pixel. Another way to sharpen in photoshop: Copy layer and use Filter--Other--High Pass (radius about 25) on the copy and set the blending mode to hard light. Adjust the opacity to suit. Hope this helps, Rich

You could see if there is anything here that will work. I'd be very interested to know if you figure it out. RichThread: Vue4 Warez copy | Forum: Vue
I actually mis-placed my Vue 4 manual for about 4 months (I found it recently while looking for something else ;)) and was using the Vue 3 manual instead. I tend to read all over the house and my books seem to rotate between lost and found, so it really is possible that when someone says they lost the manual its actually true. Rich
