This. This many times over. I have refused to upgrade from Poser 11 simply because the contents just DOES NOT exist. I feel envious of all the contents available for DS, yet most of what Poser gets is loads of girl clothes time and time again. I really wish Poser creators would look into what is available for Daz (as Rhia474 mentioned) and try to do similar.@ dreamcutter: thank you for the list, when you look at it like that it should be an eye opener for many.
Where Poser falls short right now is content. Look at the other software's store: I want decent fantasy clothing with detailed armor and not much skin, check. Do I want fantasy with skin, check. Do I want sci-fi armor and critters, check. Do I want monsters, check. Do I want great props with details and different shaders, check. Do I want to import figures from a game and render them? Check.Â
Now check the Poser store for the same. For its own figures.
If Poser' s owner wishes to move in a different direction with what content it commissions, distributes etc., that's their privilege. But it will lose despite the fact that the software itself is better.Â
A large part of it also will be how their Poser content is presented and marketed in sharp contrast to the other side of the store.
Content marketing should get a bit less anemic whi.le the software is improved.
I used Poser since oh, let's see, 2007 or so I think, so while not as experienced as other here, i am a purely end user and want to see it succeed.
And someone please consider adding full multi-core support to the entire program rather than just rendering. Moving the cameras when building a scene with lots of characters quickly becomes an exercise in frustration.

I didn't touch the library or program directory after I made the post above, and the error popup simply vanished on its own, so no idea if it's even fixed. 🤨
I'm guessing some other unrelated program or driver I installed later on added some file that maybe Poser needed.

Editing the .INI file worked for me, though I had to move the library to the second monitor since it keeps going behind the main Poser screen. But now every time I start the program I get this.
The certificate in question is for contentparadise.com. Anyone has any idea how to get rid of this prompt? :/
Thread: Does Poser 12 support Genesis 7/8/X models? | Forum: Poser 12
I'm not smart enough to figure out things myself, and I have not found much online on how to do it. Maybe someone could come up with a script or tool to do so, and maybe have it in some place like Github or something.

@McGradnpa - I agree wholeheartedly. It is frustrating to see all the great contents available for Daz that I wish I could use with Poser -- not just Genesis, but also scenery, creatures, and different architectural structures
I'm still on Pro 2014, and I see zero reason to upgrade. Even less when I would have to pay full price for the newer version. It doesn't matter how much the program has been improved. All the new features are nearly useless without content to use it. Oh, sure... "La Femme" and "Le Homme". We have heard this before. "Dawn of a new era", anyone? Sure, I could use DS if I wanted, since it is free. But every time I try, it's not long before its clunky UI makes me scream and race back to Poser.
Renderosity used a picture of a muscle car when announcing Poser 12 was coming. Well, cars need roads. So, Renderosity, you better darned well make sure good quality contents is coming, or that shiny new car won't get very far.

I don't know if it was mentioned (it's such a long thread) or if it has been implemented before (Using Poser Pro 2014 still) but multi-core and/or GPU processing on the entire program and not just rendering would be a huge plus. Right now, trying to create a scene with a large number of figures and props is a real pain. And I see only one CPU core being used while I struggle to move the camera around.
I know native support for DS items may be wishful thinking, but if not so, an easy way to import them would be great. It's disappointing to see so many items (buildings, rooms, landscapes, creatures, figures). that I wish I could purchase and use. I tried to get used to DS, but I find the GUI clunky and non-intuitive, I gave up on trying to make much with it.
