You're not going to find manually installed content from Renderosity in your Smart Content, just a fyi. Smart Content, by default, gets installed in My Daz 3D Library(typically found in C: > Users > Public > Public Documents on your system) and should show up in both your Smart Content tab within Daz Studio and in your Products folder that will have subfolders 0-1 & A-Z when you expand it. Renderosity content installed from the zip files need to be going in My Library, located by default in C: Users > MyUserName > Documents(or "My Documents") > Daz3D > Studio > .
To find this content in Daz Studio, you need to look for it in Daz Studio Formats > My Library.
Another thing to make sure is that you're downloading & installing ALL of the necessary zip files for the product. Some products have required multiple zip files while others have optional ones. I'm not sure about the OBJ -only zips, but the zip files labled "Templates" or that only contain templates are not necessary unless you plan on making your own custom texture sets for the given product.
Thread: Free Frida Head Morphs from Sangriart's Furia? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Yes, I'm aware of that, and I'm also aware that these things are sometimes copied & pasted in error, so I have no idea if this is the case which is why I'm asking if the aforementioned head morph file was erroneously included since it is being sold as part of another product. If you had checked the Read Me file you would have seen the Frida morph at the very beginning of the files list.

Jason, those problems sound like sufficient reason to never buy from DAZ again. It's obvious the embedded systems have failed you. There are two recourses, walk away, or the law. Being a paying customer ever again is irrational based on what you say has happened to you.
Maybe my tiny budget has saved me from getting enough to run into problems. Looking at my content list, 90%+ are freebies. The paid-for items really have to work well for me to consider them. There are people on the DAZ forum talking about buying the latest bundle today, at prices more than I have spent this year. Nope, not for me.
Regards,
Richard.
Its their forums and they're going to do whatever they want to do, regardless of whether its right or wrong. Just don't try to challenge it, because they will beat you every time with moderation. The key is to do what you want, just not on their playground. If they're becoming so draconian in their forums, eventually it will affect their business and the PAs that sell products there. Some of their "moderating" practices I find ridiculous, but there's not much I can do about it and they're obviously not going to change it no matter how many of us kick & scream about it. I just refrain from posting there much unless to answer a question or give some pointers.
Thread: Daz 4.15 and caustics | Forum: DAZ|Studio
You should post screenshots of what is happening; otherwise, it could be anyone's guess as to what is happening or causing the issue. Also, keep in mind that rendering caustics may be more demanding when it comes to memory and it also definitely increases render times.
Thread: Jillian For Genesis 8 Females by 3DLoki Missing Files | Forum: DAZ|Studio

This UV Set is for the Genesis 3 Base Female. Freebie name: (Torso UVs for G3F Anatomical Elements)
Load the Genitalia onto Genesis 3 Female.
Apply the same Shader as the Torso Surface for G3F onto the Genitalia.( Usually, this will be the AoA_Subsurface Shader which can be found in the DAZ folders at Shaders > Age of Armour > Subsurface). not for G8f that is old school.
Copy the Torso surface for G3F by right-clicking it in the Surfaces tab and then paste it onto the Genitalia surface.
Change the UV Set for the Genitalia to "Base Female Torso UVs".(this product works with G8f also) I think Sharecg? just try this process it should work ok I've used it a lot when it calls for nudes.;)
I think that's basically the same thing that I said in one of my posts above. Female characters that have the gens painted on the torso texture can technically work on the geograph, but sometimes it doesn't simply due to how far off center that "split" in the middle may end up because of the geometry there depending on how far off center the painted gens are on the torso texture, which could end up looking bad with the normal & bump maps. If I really needed genitals to work for a particular skin, I could probably just ghetto mod it with a geoshell & cut-out opacity maps since I don't need them to "function" or anything like that.
Thread: Jillian For Genesis 8 Females by 3DLoki Missing Files | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Yeah, I'm not going to return the product since the eye texture problem is fixed, and the problem with the gens/torso texture seams can be remedied by just using the torso texture and/or not using the geograph since its not critical for my renders. Well, that's 2 products checked, tested, and cleared, now I just have 5 more to go, lol. One of them will be another first time HDRI for me called Theory of Light Energy Flow. =)

It was built using alternate UVs for the eyes. It should of had a warning that you would need the product the error is referencing.
I don't think needing an additional product was the issue. The reference is being made to a component(the UV map) I'm assuming is part of a merchant resource product made by DimensionTheory as a Daz Original iirc, which requires the UV map/appropriate .dsf to be included in products using those texture resources. So no need for us to buy a whole separate product.
Yeah, I went from thinking that the textures were missing to it being that the wrong textures were uploaded into the zip file. I didn't realize they used a completely different UV map for the eye surfaces until I loaded eye textures from a different character and tried to manually apply Jillian's eye textures. I'm just glad it was corrected so fast. Thank you! In the past I've had to wait a month or longer(if I was lucky). There's still products out there from other vendors that have messed up geometry morphs or textures.
There's one other issue, and I'm not sure how important it is, but I noticed there are seams/mismatches when using the G8F anatomical elements & Jillian's genital textures. This can be remedied by using the torso texture on the anatomical elements and switching the UV map in the surface settings, but the central part of it will not line up enough with the geometry of the central orifice, so it won't work well for anyone doing nude renders that expose this region.
Thread: Jillian For Genesis 8 Females by 3DLoki Missing Files | Forum: DAZ|Studio
I forgot to mention, in case it wasn't obvious, its the textures for the eyes, which do appear to be in the character's texture file, but somehow that missing .dsf is screwing it up.

When it comes to female characters, Paisley for Teen Josie 8(from over at Daz3D) has been one of the easiest for me to work with in regards to lighting and rendering. The base skin that comes with the character is phenomenal and works well on other G8 characters that need a mid-tanned complexion. Not sure if I have a particular favorite, since it depends on the theme and type of character(s) I want in the scene.
Thread: noob installing content for first time | Forum: DAZ|Studio
I use Win7 Ultimate as well. On my system, I unzip the entire contents into Computer > OS (C:) > Users > MyUserName > My Documents > DAZ 3D > Studio > My Library, and I make sure to MERGE the folders. Be advised that some files and documents are duplicated in 2 different zip files for a product. For example, clothing or characters that are for both G3 and G8 have some duplicate files which can simply be replaced by the duplicate. The reason for this is some might want to only install only one of the versions, and avoids having to cherry pick through the files and manually install the necessary files for only a single version. Template files do not need to be installed or downloaded if you're not going to make your own custom textures/add-ons for a product.
I was lucky when it came to learning how to install stuff from renderosity. If I screwed something up, I could just reboot and try again. If I got it right, I just unfreeze my drive and repeat the installation.
Thread: Whats wrong with downloading ??????? | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
I logged on about an hour ago and I was having the same problem with the site response time. It took me around several minutes to log in. The latency with Renderosity seems to be sporadic. As I was writing this, everything seemed to be working fine but still a little bit slow.
Thread: Women with smaller breast | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
In my opinion, I could care less simply due to the fact that if I'm trying to achieve a certain look or body/head proportion, I have plenty of morphs to make the necessary adjustments, and there are plenty of breast morphs available. The only thing I noticed with female characters in the same series is many of them have the same general breast size/shape. My guess is the artists try to stay somewhere within a median between large and small because its easier to adjust up or down from there as opposed to having to adjust from the one or other extreme. I think I recall seeing some of her photo sets years ago, if its the same woman. Some of the themes of her photo-shoots I found to be rather disturbing and would probably get the photographer thrown in jail in some countries.

You need to contact the vendor with any technical issues on a product. please.
At the time, I could not initiate contact with the vendor(yes, I tried it) or anyone else, nor did I have the product purchased until I made the second post with the screenshots to confirm there were no issues(and to correct myself). I've since rendered & tested the product and will have no problems with it. My concern was with the geometry of the character, which appeared way off in one of the promo images and I wanted to find out before I buy it whether or not it had been corrected. I'll be sure to let them know they might want to redo that particular render for the character or at least mention that its not an issue with the current product in their promo page for it. All we have to go on is what they show us in the promo images & what they write in the description/ReadMe. Given that we have a waiting period before being able to contact others, the only logical option available was the Marketplace Customer Support.
Thread: What's up – No support anymore? | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
I'm assuming you're referring to the product Tween ROCCO for G8 Male. Tween ROCCO and Teen JADE are two different products from the same vendor. Its possible the vendor may have made a mistake or, if you had installed one of the products before and later installed the other product, you might have mistakenly "replaced" files. Like I said, double-check the product zip files and compare with the files you have installed. Its very easy to make this mistake by selecting the wrong option(s) when unzipping & installing the product files. I almost did it myself.
