Thread: Help in evaluating Miki | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Her body isn't that great. The head is realllly good tho. The forearms are very odd..worst part. The rest of her body is fine. If this means anything, the best would be if you get Miki's head on V3's body.
Thread: Miki clothing question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Speaking of clothing for Miki... I find Miki a realllly great model to use if you're into realism, like me. Her face morphs and eye geometry is far and away the best out there. She renders so realistically with the right settings (a little IBL, etc). Alas, I'm a bit concenred with her support down the road... I've seen and purchased some good vendor products from here (e.g. Shahara's Linda for Miki -- which is excellent !). BUT, will there be clothing to fit her? Like realistic clothing such as jeans, shirts, shoes ,shorts (e.g. not fairy wings, cloaks, and armor). I heard Wardrobe Wizard may work for her, but I've not heard of any true-life accounts of using it. Thoughts???
Thread: Poser 6 has some great new features, yet DAZ Figures still reign supreme. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well I'm glad my thread brought on such a good deal of discussion. I knew I'd see some good opinions on both sides of the fence. Poser community never let's down! :)
Thread: Poser 6 has some great new features, yet DAZ Figures still reign supreme. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well the beauty is that u can still use Daz figures with Poser 6. So its a win-win. I just wish they'd figure some way to work better together as company's so we'll all come out ahead.
Thread: Two secrets news for poser 6 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
These new secrets dont seem like much to me... I can already do both of these (real-time shaded previews and cell shading) to degrees with current Poser. I'm sure I'm in the minority, the MAJOR thing that would make it worth the money for upgrade would be much improved hair abilities, a la Sasquatch, etc..or atleast some plug-in compatibility with major hair-effects modules. The current 'dynamic hair' uses an odd polygon-based approach that results in disappointing results visually.
Thread: Nice CG female!!!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
By the way all, in case you haven't heard of 3dsMax before, don't be too anxious to go out and start creating images like this in any near-term. It takes years of hardwork and experience to create models like this (yes, I said 'create' unlike us in the Poser world where we just 'pose'). Go to www.cgtalk.com to see all kinds of amazing, talented work including this one. Modeling is hard part, requiring enormous amounts of time and technical skill. 3dsMax, Maya, Lightwave, etc, all allow for this type of creation, but each has huge learning curves and require much dedication. That said, you never know till you try! By the way -- see the hair in this example... THAT type of hair is what I was hoping would be around for us Poser users (e.g., Sasquatch, etc). Maybe DAZ | Studio will have a plug-in for this type of hair creation.
Thread: Postwork Fur Help==(Update) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yes.. the fur is nice, but its too flat... needs shading around the edges.. Also, it will be much more convincing if you add a shadown on her face that would be cast by the fur. Don't forget the neck is not aligned with the face, so the shadow there will be different. It's easy ebuf to do with Layers in Photoshop. Have fun.
Thread: Just a couple images, regarding Poser 5 with Vicky | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The glowing nostrils and teeth, etc, seem to indicate Poser 5 (like the previous versions) have trouble (or are unable to) render self-shadows on small objects. Like, I still haven't seen a render when the nose casts a shadows onto the face. Likewise, the lips and muth usually shadow the teeth in real life.
Thread: New P5 Characters Are Very Ugly | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
too funny... a few of us made this observation months ago and most people thought the final product would look better. Man, this is a fine, and enjoyable, moment of personal 'i told you so!' :) Cromwell and Sue88 are spot on -- it's not a matter of attractiveness, it's a matter of correctness. Judy, in particular, is way off from any 1st-year art class, or anatomical reference in terms of proportion of body and form of facial features. "I glace over, VickyII is there, holding her head high". :)
Thread: shaved pubic hair prejudice? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
This same question could be applied to porn -- every girl in every movie has shaved pubic hair (or so I'm told :). I miss the good ol' days of natural girls... but I know I'm in the minority here. On topic, StephyZZ has some great textures with full natural pubic glory :)
Thread: Poser 5 Face Room Problems | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've said it before and I'll say it again --- the 'cool' Poser interface (e.g., non-Windows standard) certainly looks the part, but should have been zapped long ago in favor of standard windows and controls!!!! The customs ones are buggy, hard to read, and resource-heavy. Oh well.. nothing is perfect.. not even our beloved Poser :)
Thread: My first dynamic clothing test animation | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hey, pretty nice! Atleast this part of p5 seems to be promising. It looks pretty natural, altho she looks possessed in her dancing :)
Thread: Poser 5 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Most realistic thing you can add -- shadows. Clothing casts shadow too of course and really make the hand drawn elements more believable. Take a look at a photo, and see how the clothes not only cast shadow on the body, but the places where the cloth are tight on the body (e.g., around waist, etc) usually have an indentation where there is signficant shadow lines. Also, some detail on the skirt would help -- like a line around the top (e.g. a seam or something). Otherwise - nice job!
Thread: OT - Wish Poser could do this... ( video link) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Very impressive!! Aside from any tie to a 3D product, it's a great implementation of facial feature following.
