I have sent an email to the folks at DAZ and am waiting on a response from them. Esentially I'm not selling the DAZ stuff, Just selling Poser (which I got the transfer of ownership form (thx little_dragon)), but since I wont have poser anymore I wont need the DAZ stuff so I'm just giving it to the purchaser of Poser. I know.. this can be chalked up to symantics. Selling something for a set price and giving other stuff away with it is esentially selling something for a lower set price and selling the other stuff as well.. hence the reason I'm asking :) Hopefully DAZ will say "Sure.. go ahead, just be sure there are no old archives of products laying around on your end.."

Thread: Please reset downloads for order #89056 | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
Well, this is the first time I purchased anything from here... got the download link, started the download. All was working well, until about 24% into the download.. then my download speed droped down to about 320 to 400 bytes per second... the download stopped.. so I tried again. the download started at a slow speed, and stopped about 3 minutes later. Tried again, and got the download going (although soooo slowly), and got the zip file in. tried to open it.. zip file corrupt. sigh so I tried again, but found that the download button is no longer there. Definitley not a good feeling about this.
Thread: Anyone know how to get a obj file from a 3dsmax file? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, you can fire up max and use HABware's obj exporter to export the max file as an object, or 2.) if the file in question is *.3ds, you can import that file into poser, and then re-export it out as a wavefront object. After you gett he object file, you can use a program that will allow you to build a texture map. I recommend steve cox's UVMapper program. Or if you have painter 3D, you can paint directly onto the object itself.

Hehe.. One of the advantages of actually working for the ISP and maintaining the racks where all the equipment lies, plus handling the throughput quota files ;) I got 200 Mb of throughput a day so I'm not to to worried.

I can also host em too on my web page. http://alkyra.icsi.net/~ccowboy My own server, fed directly to our ISP's router. 300+ megs free space. I think I also might set up individual accounts for people, but that is something I need to ponder for a while.
Thread: *Possible* Virus Alert | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ok.. just got this from ABCNEWS.com. The virus IS real, it's widespread in europe (as of early this morning) and is creeping into the US. It's particularly bad for the 3d arts community becuase it intentionally goes out and searches for jpg images and replaces them with a copy of itself. (doh). It uses the smae tricks as the melissa virus by sending itself to everyone in the microsoft outlook address book. (good deal I use eudora :P ) For more information check the ABCNews news story at: http://www.abcnews.go.com/sections/tech/DailyNews/virus_000504.html - Console Cowboy
