vI am using 378.49 on a GTX970. No problems qith Iray renders. When not rendering I use it to participate in a ethercoin mining pool that returns about 0.30 USD per diem. You may have hit a hardware limitation where driver upgrades no longer increase performance but just maintain functionality.

You did not say what what hardware you have, but I can no longer use my GTX 750 for iray renders. I use it for video output when970 is busy rendering.

Resolution is changed in the parameters tab, as below.

First, what resolution are you using for the actual scene elements? TD3 by default uses "Base resolution" but there is a pull down for "High resolution".

Also, bump and displacement maps do not work well without subdivision being applied.

For convergence, 95% is sufficient for most scenes. For my own work, I cannot distinguish any quality difference between 95 and 100, it just takes 50X longer.

You should use "Luminous flux" instead of intensity.

It's possible your firewall or antivirus software is preventing it from starting. It's only needed if you are using the so-called "Smart Content".

I really don't know what to say. I do not have that file on my system and Poser seems to run fine.

Maybe the version I have (11.0.2.31562) was compiled with chrome library object code and doesn't appear as separate process. Possibly it calls the Windows Host process and appears among the dozen or so "svchost.exe" listings that appear with the Task Manager.

I don't use Poser that often and have no idea of the impact that the presence or absence of a "cefclient" makes.

My purpose in uninstalling chrome was to fix a problem with the Corona Renderer in 3DS Max 2017.

You might do a search (include hidden and system files) for "cefclient.exe" and find which folder it resides. I have no such file on my system, so I don't think it is part of Poser.

Sometimes other application install chrome libraries because it's cheaper than developing a custom windowing/browsing function. Nothing wrong with that, it make good business sense. Countless apps use IE library functions for same reason.

I got rid of Chrome browser because it interfered with some other graphic apps. The cefclient.exe process does not appear when I run PP11.

Does it only appear if Poser is configured with certain options?

you should look in the log to see if it reports any exceptions when you load a scene. Usually there is a popup if it can't find or load a texture, but that should also be in the log

I suppose "preview" is the actual term instead of "display". This menu sets how the current scene appears on screen. It does not affect the rendered image

Are you sure you haven't set your display to "Smooth Shaded"?
