I sent my battery off in the pre-paid envelope on tuesday, they should send me a new one within 5-10 days. Until then I am out of action but I have ordered another to use as a spare. this link is a head start for the european users http://nikoneurope-en.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/nikoneurope_en.cfg/php/enduser/std_alp.php?p_sid=82ZmzYYh one note: I originally registered my camera after I bought it with the nikon-europe site but you may have to re-register with the european support centre before you can register your battery for replacement. I bet that link doesn't work, you'll have to copy and paste :) David
Thread: RE: Nikon D70 firmware update...did it make a difference? | Forum: Photography
I uploaded the new firmware on to my D70 about the day after it came out. I suppose you could say that the AF was slightly faster, as 3Dguy says it is better at predicting how many exposures you would have left, different look of course. I'd say it was worth it, since it's free and not too much hassle to do, but unless you are a 'statistic testing nutcase' then don't worry too much, your not missing anything radical :) either way, have fun!

Wow, that is a really great shot there Mr Onslow ! You captured that honey glow really well :)
Thread: Moonrise over Greece | Forum: Photography
Yup, correct indeed, I was waiting up for it last night to get some pics but it was so incredibly low that,, well I could hardly see it. This is the largest the moon has appeared for 19 years. Mainly due to the timing and proximity to the earth but also because it is so low, the optical effect with the earthโs atmosphere makes it appear slightly larger. The full moon of June occurs closest to the summer solstice when the suns passes highest above us and the moon passes lowest across the sky. A haze on a typical June evening is partly responsible for the honey colour (thicker layers of air for the sunlight to pass/refract through) and it being called the Honeymoon (see the honey colour on twopynts linked photo). Some say that this is where the term honeymoon comes from, as most weddings are traditionally held in June. Hope thatโs not too scatty an explanation. Ahh well, maybe I will make more of an effort next time โฆโฆ

mmmmmm, "State of mind?", lord are you not asking the impossible? maybe you are just a collection of thoughts in a cold shell. I think your freezer could do with hoover though, maybe you could borrow the Dyson :) You will never find me ! I float through time like the wind, invisible and unstoppable.

I was thinking about doing one, but you'll have to give me till the end of the month, bit slow on making these things :) I'm sure you will get loads of entries, right at the last minute, just like my monthly challenge five senses entry will probably be (lol)!
