Thread: Low moving fog? | Forum: Vue
Hi Alexander. Look at my scene "Woodlands?" and see if thats the kind of fog you are looking for. What I did was just to use a high/low to the ground atmospheric fog setting and scaled all my scene components VERY large. Hope this helps! P.S My render "October-Final" took 154h38'55'' to render on my 600MHz PIII, so I guess I get the stupid persistance award..LoL!
Thread: openGL is causing problems... I think | Forum: Vue
Hehe, I have 192 MB in RAM and I concider myself an ELITE when it comes to modeling/editing/composing at 1 frame/sec. I don't know what the problem is for you with OpenGL, but if you have a NVIDIA card, try the old 6.13.10 drivers if you can find them and activate OpenGL just as a test...becouse it works perfectly for me. If you can't find that driver version, send me an e-mail.

Thread: New 2 Vue! | Forum: Vue
Hi Kromekat. I am delighted that you will be diving into Vue knowing how talented you are in Bryce. I am very much looking forward to seeing your future work. This is certainly the most helpful and friendly forum I have ever encountered. Good luck!! Peter C. P.S Did you ever post a tutorial on how to use lattice maps from you Woodlands texture pack?
Thread: Where is Michael Janssen? (Mitch) | Forum: Vue
I noticed it too, as I oftan check his site for his latest woork as a source of inspiration. It would be a great loss if he quit. I know that dreampaint sometimes has contact with him, maby he knows something?
Thread: Vue = my home architect :) | Forum: Vue
Very nice..and a good idea! Maby this could be an idea for a monthly challenge. Participants could try to recreate a architectural scene based on one general picture...photorealism being the cheif aim maby? ....well...just a thought! =)

Thread: Rays | Forum: Vue
Also, if you wand split ray, light gels aren't enough. Use a maple tree in the light's path to achieve that and dont have to much volumetric light quality. But do render at a very good quality!
Thread: Having problems using transparancies with volumetric light! | Forum: Vue
LoL!!! Just realised what was the problem! After a last check on the image, I saw that the dark boarder had the reflection of the underlying wood bench. I disabled the "cast shadows" on the bench textur...and it worked!!! Jepp....I am tired =P
Thread: Vue4 Warez copy | Forum: Vue
I totally agree with Sacred Rose'e comment on this. It would be very unconstructive and unwelcoming if everytime someone asks a question about how to do something in Vue, he would be branded as a warez user. Many people (myself included) has quite a hard time learning operations from the manual. As you all probably know, we all use different ways to understand something. There are four types of learning: reflective observation, abstract thinking, active experimenting and koncrete experimenting. I belong to the last two. I studied the manual for about half an hour when I got Vue 3.1, even less with Vue 4. And the reason I sometime ask stupid questions is because I want to hear the explanations from different people with different approaches to the answere. And you all know how vague this 339 pages long user guide is. But if you all are worried that there are Vue warez users here, ask all members to supply a mug shot of them holding the box, manual and disks in their hands =) ...problem solved!
