It has only been a little over two hours that I am home after having been re-admitted because of heart complications from surgery earlier this year. So upon checking my e-mails and IMs, it was wonderful news from Douglas and the photography team at Renderosity to be selected among for that week. Well, it made my day and I feel truly honored. Thank you so very much for a wonderful welcome present. Egmont
Thread: Thoughts are with Egmont | Forum: Photography
I would like to thank Douglas (dBgrafix) for having started this link. When I learned of it through Kort, I checked it out and read all responces. Everything that has happened since December 16, 2005 and especially January 13, have changed me forever. For someone who does not drink, smoke or do drugs and eats healthy, the events to a triple by-pass open heart surgery will knock anyone out. Though I have been home since Sunday night, I take each day with little baby steps. Some days are better than others, however rest is in order. So from my almost new heart, I thank everyone who has posted a comment and especially for Douglas who started it. Thank you so very much. Egmont

Well, well, well. So nice to finally put a face to all the exchange of eMails and comments between Nina and Christian, along with an updated photographs of Monkia. I see that Shiela is planning a trip to Kentucky? and Gene is going to be there, wish I could make it. Care to move it closer to California? Sniff, sniffle, sniff . . Glad the three of you had fun and it is a pleasure to finally meeting you all. ;~0)

Now that is what I call a terrific find and it comes with a free title to boot. Hope you took enough pictures for us to enjoy in your gallery. I have returned several times to the dumpster I photographed as it keeps changing with every pick up. So when your ready to upload the final versions, I'll be ready.
Thread: An artist (Egmont) showed me (#2)... :-) | Forum: Photography
Regardless of ones level, we see and interpret things differently, that is why we have such a diverse difference of opinions. I too like the idea of Kort and have a monthly challange, but at the same time I hasten to include that it would benefit us to work on the original image and untouched image even if it is one that is reduced to 108 or 72 dpi. This will allow us the finest results. Anyone up for a challenge? :~)

Where do I start? First off, in looking at it again, I agree that the image is too dark as a photograph. I was under the impression Michel was asking me how to present it framed, so I rethought the framing aspect and then played around with the image that reflected my original comment when it was first posted which was: "A wonderful image as it brings to mind the past. If this were a duo-tone, for it has the feel of an etching. Thank you for sharing such a peaceful image. V." However, I was reluctent to make it a duo-tone since I do not want others to think I only like B&W and not colour. But since we are talking about comparison, I agree with the adjustments made by tibet2004uk as being the better of all.The contrast level was clearly improved and then the feature that I did not use was to sharpen the image via sharpening or contrast level as tibet2004uk did. I therefore wish to thank tibet20004uk for making this image perfect. However, I did learn one thing, I must be careful as to how I play around with someone elses image. :) Never-the-less, thank you Michel for asking me to participate and I do look forward to another challenge.
