i agree, u will definantly need more ram...i suggest at least 512MB. its really cheap nowadays anyway so thats no biggy. also get a graphics card, like a GeForce3 Ti300 or a Ti500 if u got the cash for it. hard-drive space is a matter of opinion, high quality scans for photoshop alone can take like 100-250mb each, then the edited document another 100mb or so. poser saved files usually are around 50mb each and so on....i'd suggest a 40gig or so. other than that u should be pretty set with what u picked out. i am running an Athlon XP 1400+, 512MB 266mhz DDR Ram, GeForce 2 GTS (i know, i gotta upgrade) and an 80gig Ultra-DMA133, 7200rpm HD (never came even close to filling it). and i am using the same programs u meantioned above and everything renders pretty smoothly on my machine, even volumetric worlds in bryce i can render in less than 3hours.

i had kind of the same problem with the wood elf hair. someone pointed out a way to me that worked great for me. load the OBJ file into a text editor after exporting from poser. search and replace all instances of '#IND' and replace them with a ' ' (blank space) and resave. now it should import just fine. it did for me anyway...good luck.
Thread: question about downloading freestuff here | Forum: Bryce
even if its a dead link, u should still be able to get the "save target as..." option....check "windowsupdate.microsoft.com" if there is any files u might be missing or something wrong with ur browser...if that dont work, try getting some kinda download manager or something....seems like windows is IE is acting where it shouldnt...it should ask u if u want to save, open or whatever the file before it does anything if there really isnt a webpage....

yeah i got the mtl file and i dont get the i/o error anymore, just that all the textures are gone and i have to redo everything which i am not too keen on....specially with the woodelf hair since it consists of like 12 parts and i dont know which part gets which texture file. is there any way i could export it maybe as something different then an obj so i can keep the textures?
