 I actually replaced the stock heatsink with: http://www.pricecanada.com/p.php/Coolermaster-Hyper-212-Plus-Direct-Touch-RRB10212PGP-620782/

 So I don't think heat is the problem. I will definitely tweak my Windows 7 and turn off all unneeded services.

 I have Windows 7 64 bit and Poser Pro 2010 64 bit.

 I think I'll give overclocking a try. 3.6 with turbo boost off so it's constant. I'm pretty sure my CPU at 2.66 is the bottleneck right now.

going from 2.4 to 2.6 processor wont give you much speed improvement , the video card isnt relevant to rendering times , and you had sufficient memory on both systems. 

enable Poser to use 3 or 4 threads and it should go faster than the duo system.

 My new PC is quad core. I had it set at 4 cores on my old PC (which is 2 core) so I changed it to 8 for the new one. Should I stick with 4?

 And so the CPU is my bottleneck for sure? Would overclocking to 3.6GHZ make a big difference? (I know about overheating issues, I got extra cooling)

yes I brought in a figure.. then added a pose to the library, unchecking everything except the props. Then tried to reapply the pose, didn't work. :(

 Is there an easy way to change a prop into a figure?

 I'm using Poser Pro... and it seems that works for the most part.. though it's off a bit on the arms. The feet do behave weirdly yea.

 Do I still need a script? Or would it do exactly what "Use Universal Poses" does?

I think I've figured it out after some experimentation. I plugged a Hr rule node into the Lash template thinking that might be better than skin. Didn't work, lol. Then tried the Skin Template for the hell of it and it looked like she had a gallon of hair gel in her hair, heh.

 I guess there is no template for hair? I should just not use VSS for hair in my renders?

 I also have a few more questions.. if anyone could answer them I'd be very happy. I can't bring myself to look through the 70+ page VSS discussion thread. Too bad there's no FAQ!

Anyway my questions:

1. Does VSS work for Poser 8? I'm considering purchasing it (I have Poser Pro currently) but after seeing the VSS results I gotta use it!

2. Does using VSS have a dramatic change on render time? I plan on making an animation.

3. I read somewhere about VSS giving a gamma correction effect. Does this mean I change the "Gamma Correction" under render settings from 2.2 to 0?
