Depending on the angle in which you are viewing, you want to add reflection and add highlights. I have created several images with wet pavements and this method definately works well. To get the best results, you want to have a low bump setting otherwise your reflection and highlight setting will get lose. Remember: Low bump unless you want it to be slick like glass.

I have had that problem a few times in V6I and I think V5I when saving a scene after working on it for a while. If I quit and started up again I would get the same message. I found that restarting the computer solved the issue but I never figured out what it was. I am presuming you have already tried that so I will give you this tip. Here's a site that allows your Windows 32bit programs to use up to 3gigs of memory. I have used it over a year and have had NO problems with it. Perhaps this may resolve your problem. After writing this I gonna head over to e-on and see if I can dig up a solution for this. Wish me luck.

You are definately talking about 3rd party programs like Adobe After Effects and, like Silverblade said, Particle Illusion. It's gonna cost you money and time to master, but both will give you very good results.

Phew! Glad this got resolved. I hate needing to have answers because of deadlines and not getting them. The VUE forum really has some experts not only in VUE but in CG.

I have a thought on this.
Forget the water plane. Create a ground plane and just apply a water mat to it. IF that works then it's a easy work around. If it doesn't, then create an alpha plane, enlarge it and apply a water mat to it. Hopefully it won't look bad as it ends with your horizon. Still you shouldn't have this problem so I am not excusing the bug but rather trying to find a suitable work around. Hope this helps in some way.
