That's just the point. I started install everything new. The files land up in place, the UI remains blank as nothing has been loaded/installed.
Unproblematical installing in 7 Pro, using Target (DAZ) and destination (Poser); not so in Pro 2010.
Ā
Thanks anyway for the reply.
Thread: whereto install content for Poser? | Forum: Poser Technical
What about Poser Pro 2010? My basic OS is win XP 32 bit.
I work for a number of years with Poser Pro (7) - noĀ problems.
Poser Pro 2010 is another affair. Whilst installing M4 and V4 they land in the runtime but not in the UI.
The UI remains blanco and does not show any M4/V4 character. It is totally blind.
I tried several angles of attack: i.e. copy and paste from Poser Pro 7 files. No bloody nothing. Everything blank save for the Smith Micro pre installed stuff.
Ā
Any suggestions sincerely welcome.
Ā
Next question: is Pro 2010 that much better as Pro 7?

@3-Darena - You are right and I was wrong in the issue of Sidney. Meanwhile I discovered how
to manipulate the character. Day after day I find new female morphs, those which work are great,
like Sara, - Farah makes a beautiful mature lady, "Star Quality" is a beautiful asset. There are also
many that do not work at all, might be caused by what? (Aeronna, Julianne,)Ā and also a few that
causes an immediate bug of which you can find more in this forum (Windows failure report no disk)
One of the biggest ptoblems is the hair. Only very few hairsets work correctly, the best of all:
Kozaburo - that one gives me the least problems. Most of all the "universal" hairsets fail more often than once to open, some causing an immediate crash.
Maybe I am a little bit careless and should read the "Read me's" first.
For the opening of 3rd party attachments, I use the (un)zip button in the content section.
Maybe I should not do that.
Certainly I have to learn is how to administrate all the props, characters and last but not leastĀ my own creations.
Day after day I learn more and I certainly come to admire the overwhelming creativity around
the international audience that plays around with Poser.
One day I hope,Ā I should be capable to add my own characters to the freebee section.
Thread: Pentax DSLR..a player in today's market? | Forum: Photography
I work analogue digital with the Fuji 680GXIII and there is no better than that one in the medium format scene. My fotofiles ar sometimes over 2 Gb!!!!
With Pentax : the point is that the Japanese companies have made a deal between themselves:
real competition, like in Europe, is not fitting their culture. The laziness, lousiness and lack of skills put the European cameramanufacturers out of the market.
My first TTL was the Asahi Pentax S1A, later on I bought a Spotmatic. After that a series of Nikons.
Now Nikon lost a big piece of their Pro market to Canon.
I am happy with my big monster. I make portfolio's for starting models, covers for books etc.
No, the days of the good old Pentax are definitely over.

Hoi dorcmcgork,
I am just learning what "parenting" is, about the dials I did not know and will certainly follow your advise. Parenting the lightset to the floor is a splendid idea. Would never had thought about that
since I suppress all on screen information.
Thaknks for your most welcome advise.

I don't anyone to annoy with my frustrations. But thanks for your supporting reply. I have still not found something that superceeds Poser, with a not too steep learning curve. I checked on Maya,
ok that will keep me 10 years busy and I am too old for that. Rhino, about the same.
DS has an even more irritating user interface as Poser. So I stay with Poser, whatever the
consequences.
A specialĀ word to the developer of CLARIS! Fix the bug!!!! The character is exactly what I need for
my legends. I will buy it straight away!!!
I would love to show the characters I have already created but can't according to the apparent nudity. My Phaedra character, is made out of Jessi (Poser 6) and 3rd party components.
She walks straight out of Greek mythology.
Thread: New Poser Pro bug | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I think I wil do the latter since I do practically each day a reg clean up.
Maybe I have to extend my memory since I run quite a number of graphic prgrams. May be my
graphic chart is not good enough. After all I am going to split graphics from the rest.
In any case thanks for the advise.
Thread: New Poser Pro bug | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have this problem too! It occurs also when starting up my PC in the morning. After a few clicks it's gone. What is this?
Now I understand why so many props-attachments are not working!
Can you explain in detai what to do? Would be immensely grateful.
Thread: Caris Morphs - Problem in D/S - any ideas? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I had the following problem with Caris and desparately look for a solution. Because Caris, after
a bit of touch up, is a beautiful athletic, good looking model. Much alike the Jessi character in P6.
I was almost ready with the figure and when I wanted to add a hair set (Felicity Hair) then whole thing crashed.
Now the funny thing is the original body morph doesn't work anymore. Even after removing the
old file and reĆÆnstalling the basic one. No nothing.
Frankly speaking, 80% of the hairstes in the freezone doesn't work. I use Poser 7, the latest version, it might be that artists are supplying items for older programs. I don't really knowĀ why
your program crashed and why it cannot return to 0 state when reĆÆnstalled.
Thread: The obstacles of a newbee | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ok, I start to get the point. The crazy thing is that the program changes colours too! At wiil. One
of the reasons that the developers have no idea what's going on in a studio. Revolving and rotating lights are just a nightmare. They could have kept the thing simple by just installing a scene and
when the lights are set up some sort of a lock code, may be a toggle wheel for light intensity.
That stupid little dial in Poser even doen't keep in place.
The strange thing is that photographers must adapt to the crazies of the programmers rather than
that the programmers are capable to do what's useful in a studio.
The same problemI envision in CS2-3 although toa lesser extend.
What remains a mystery to me are the hidden adjustment factors.
I am experimenting with the Victoria 4.2 character and on the way ofĀ playing around I stumbled on a set of complete bodymorph dials/toggle wheels. Including the gen's, breasts, even the size of the nipples. When I tried to recall,Ā I couldn't find the forementioned adjustments.
What further amazes me is that the Victoria and Jessi character are so functional whilst the later developement of Sydney is practically made of iron and not changeable. I f you try to inflate her basic dimesions the body and legs are disfiguring.
No, Smith Micro is definately not an add on to Poser.
I sincerely hope that there will be separate suppliers of basic high quality characters. Therefore
the one thread about this topic interests me greatly.
Thread: The obstacles of a newbee | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks gentlemen, ladies for this reply. Yeah,I am a newbee. And yes, I discovered the changes atributed to different camerapositions.Ā To find out everything is a time consuming process. Grace to your replies I don't have to find out just by experimenting. I can produce now a reasonable quality character, not really super but satisfying. You can really grow old with the quality of this forum.
Thanks again.
Thread: Headhunter | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
That is quite correct, I have to find out bitĀ by bit how the prgram works. Just by experimenting I discover again and again new facts and figures. But indeed I started to program the downloading
as you described. So Victoria works and I have another female character to play with.
The "help" issue in Poser is pretty hopeless, as is with most "help" programs.
This forumĀ does a lot, I am glad I can join it.

Rebekah,
I like tremendously the characters of human project. (Sixus 1) They load effortlessly and areĀ probably the most uncomplicated loadable characters available.
Never said that I did not like your characters.
Thread: Pentax DSLR..a player in today's market? | Forum: Photography
The digital camera is still in it's early development. In the late ' 60's the Asahi Pentax was with Nikon a marketleader in the world of mirror reflex camera's or TTL.
At Pentax there is some movement to restore their ancient status, altough much of it is lost to Canon which is theĀ best of today, save for the Hasselblads and the analogue/digital hybrid techniques, which are superseeding qualitywise any prosumer camera.
Pentax comes in same line with the Nikon D70 annd Canon 450.
You better have a look at the lenses rather than focussing on the technical issues.
Thread: Headhunter | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
This morning, I went again through the files and all in a sudden I discovered the system. Victoria 4 is loaded, albeit not everything arrived in it's p;roper place. However, I have placed all zip files in a separate map on an external harddisk.
In any case I see some progress and that the learning cruve is manageable.
I thank the community for their advice and most of allĀ for their free stuff. When I am getting better, I wiil definately buy.
Sincere Regards,
Robert
