"Our hosting provider has experienced a major outage to its core connectivity..." "The franistan collided with the henweigh causing a 4 gopher pileup in the power core then the cat got out of the bag and into the canaries and the results were... messy " Sounds like Dan Ackroyd in Ghostbusters.....
Thread: A Poser 5 prediction | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I think hoss69 is on the mark re: MSRP, and I bet his street prices guesses are pretty close. Another prediction: P5 will increase the gap between the folks who really know Poser's features and potential inside and out, and those like me who don't know/need to know or simply don't take the time to learn about the more arcane but powerful stuff. Looking at those new screenshots I thought, wow, there's gonna be some serious experts on strands or that face machine or whatever. That's not a good or bad thing, just an inevitable result of more powerful, complex features. G
Thread: Congratulations to Curious Labs! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
For any more CL folks checking this thread... ditto leather-guy's comments. Poser is an amazing product, getting more amazing by the year. The features in v. 5 are almost scary, so much flexibility and power. I do think Curious Labs is a model for how a company can support its users, grow as a company (I hope the financial situation is good), and put out an excellent product at the same time. As we all know way, these are three different things, and way too many companies get only 1 or two of these right. So, Cheers. G

Has the Sneak Preview been removed? I see the "View Sneak Preview..." on the front page, but then only the list sign up after that.

Thread: Ok, Last portrait -- this one is too real | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'd have to say that's the best piece of Poser art I've ever seen, certainly in terms of realism.
Thread: 3DMF files? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
For what it's worth Corel Dream 3D for Windows, which was bundled with Corel Draw 8 (but dropped from v. 9), will import .3dmf files, and in fact came with a bunch of models in this format. Also, 3D Exploration version 1.2.5 can read .3dmf and export them in a variety of formats (although I haven't actually tested this..)
Thread: Vicky's eyes fixed | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
That is an incredible picture. I uttered an expletive when I saw it. Vicky is getting better and better looking (not necessarily more "beautiful," but more realistic, detailed, and compelling.
Thread: Worlds dumbest Poser question. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Deancarl, The easiest way to move the 2nd figure you've added to your scene is to select Figure 2's "Body" using the pop-up selection menus, then use the "translate" tool up on the Editing Tool (near the top of your window). The translate tool is the 4-headed arrow.
Thread: .DXF Architectural Program For Poser Import | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I bought Sierra Complete Home version 2.0 for a similar purpose. My notes to myself tell me that it exports DXF with no textures. I'm a little hazy on it's capabilities because I uninstalled it right away because the quality of its AVI generation was awful. I could reinstall and play around with it's DXF export if you'd like more info.
Thread: Corel bought KPT, Painter and Bryce! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Regarding Poser/Bryce compatibility, remember that Meta boasted when Poser 4 came out that "soon" there would be a plug-in to animate Poser people in Bryce? I wonder if any actual work was done on such a plug-in, and if so, that work could be picked up by some other company..?
Thread: "PonyTail Hair" posted :-) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Amazing. I am really enjoying the leapfrogging going on between those making very realistic textures, which some time ago made the standard Poser hair models/textures look fake by comparison, and the folks making these remarkable hair models/textures, which throws it back into the texture arena to keep up the pace....
