Thread: Open sourced: Reality plugin for Luxrender in Daz Studio and Poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hmmm...been trying to download the resource from bitbucket, but when I try to unzip it, it is corrupted/invalid. No problems downloading similar large archives.

Xfrog has a wide range of detailed plant models. and they are available in a variety of formats, including Vue.
Thread: Vue in non-activated mode? | Forum: Vue
If you fill out the tech support form (browse to the bottom of the page https://info.e-onsoftware.com/support) and include your serial # and the install code (in VUE, select "help" then "view installation code") they will send you an activation key file.
They have been very helpful to me. I was able to download the most recent versions of VUE and Plant Factory, and get them activated.

They have recovered my E-ON account, and I am going to try to activate my VUE 2015 INF this week on a new machine. Then we will work on unlocking some of the Cornucopia3D content.

It would be very nice before I subscribe to a particular plan, to know exactly what I can and can not do with that plan. So what can we import/export for instance? What is still locked in to vue? What are the render limitations?
All of the stuff that was really clear in the old website. I like the idea of being able to switch between plans, if thats a thing. But there is a huge lack of information around these new plans. Anyone got any info? Also what support is there for poser and daz studio imports?
Yes, this is crucial information that should have been available as soon as the new plan was announced. The ability to switch between plans has been mentioned by the tech service folks on the FB page, but appears to contradict the terms of service on the website. The old comparison between the various versions of VUE 2015 was 48 pages!! compared to the less than half a page we have now.
I have heard through the FB page that we will be able to keep using and activating our old stand-alone purchases, and that at they will be able to provide a code to unlock the Cornucopia3D purchase so they can be used with the new and old software. But, at this point, these claims are not confirmed, and they are still trying to figure out what happened to my account.
If all these things pan out, I will probably be willing to go with "Creator" and switch to "Pro" for a while if I need it, once "Creator" has enough new features. If not, then I will cut my losses and go with something else. Quadspinner's new GAEA software looks like a contender to me.
I really feel for all the Vendors who sold at Cornucopia3D, and hope that they can find a new "home".
I will update if I can get more information, or confirmation of some of the Tech Service posts.
Thread: Vue alternatives? | Forum: Vue
gillbrooks posted at 12:45PM Thu, 06 December 2018 - #4341322
Why the need for alternatives? I'm using 2015 Infinite and had already decided to stop there as the upgrades, to me seemed pointless. Mostly new features that I don't need or use. Just because it's now subscription only doesn't mean that you can't continue to create in your current version. As they have stated, it's yours, you own it - the licence to use it at very least. The only possible problem may occur if at some future point, your new OS won't support it. Although for me, I would like to continue using Win 8.1 untill I falls off me perch.
The whole point being, why change just because you can't get the shiny, new "latest" version? If it works, why change ??
I agree, I decided to set a couple of machines up for hardware dual boot (Win 7/Win 10 with two physical drives so I just swap plugs), and others Win7 only (Win 10 compatibility a bit iffy). Hoping to keep VUE 2015, Plant Factory, Carrara, and probably Bryce, running on Win 7 (on machines built from cheap surplus server parts) for years to come. When I am running Win7 there will be no connection to the internet for those machines. The money for hardware was already spent, and I had extra copies of Win7, so why not?
In the meantime, I will see what develops.
Thread: Vue alternatives? | Forum: Vue
I agree that Carrara, particularly with the excellent plug-ins, is still a contender. It will also run just fine on my older render hardware (non-AVX) with GRID.
I have not given up on VUE just yet, but no way I am paying $75 a month for what appears to be the equivalent of the old VUE Infinite just for hobby use. One of their Tech Support folks stated that you could subscribe to Creator ($20 per month) and switch your subscription to Pro ($75 per month) for a month or two to export and stuff, then switch back. That does not seem so bad (although I do not like subscriptions!), except I can't actually find that option anywhere on their site. Keeping a close eye on all this.

Quadspinner's GAEA is worth a look. Quadspinner used to sell some of the best VUE add-ins (now open source/free), so I am watching developments here closely. At this time, it is purchase not subscription.

An interesting move. They seemed to have a pretty close relationship with e-on so I assume this is driven by some insider knowledge about future sales channels, or lack thereof.
I know they are focusing on their new products, like the standalone GAEA terrain software, which will compete with VUE.
Thread: Vue going subscription | Forum: Vue
This item really caught my eye on E-On's FB page!
**There is inherent flexibility built in, for instance you can subscribe to Creator and when necessary swap to Professional for a month for example and then change back! " **
Ok, now this makes the subscription plan much more palatable to me. I did not expect this flexibility. The "Creator "addition would (from the limited details) do almost all of what I want. So if I needed to export, or do higher-res stuff, or needed more render nodes, it looks like I could switch to "Pro" for a month or two and use those features, then switch back. I can control my costs, and still keep the software working. I will have VUE 2015 Infinite to fall back on as needed.
Also, there will apparently be an option to get a code to activate the locked Cornucopia3D products with your current install. That is a huge relief. Looking for the details on that, as the info is second-hand.
Given all this, I am willing to spring for the "Creator" addition subscription for most of the year, and switch to "Pro" for a while when/if I need it. This will be similar in cost to the old maintenance plan.

Well, sort of. Old password does not work, waiting since this morning for a reset.
No word on Cornucopia 3D.

Old password does not work. Still waiting on a password reset.
After all the wait and being kept in the dark for a year, I was hoping that they would come back up with a bit "thanks for waiting" sale, and let everything get sorted out before they hit us with the subscription plan.
There is really very little information on the differences between the versions, compared to the pages of comparison they had before. For example, there used to be a limit on the number of CPUs you could use for Vue Complete, so what is it for the new version?
Also still no word on Cornucopia 3D.
I am underwhelmed by this reboot.

The principle is called "reseller". They exist in many countries in this world, and always existed.
Ah, well, I figure that everyone that visits this forum knows what a reseller is. The point is that E-ON seems to be really backed up with order requests right now, and this is an alternative path to getting what you need. In a situation like this, with the main supplier site down, there is no guarantee that resellers still have license keys available, but this vendor apparently does. : )

Hi Im new in the forum,I want to know where I can find the old versions of Vue,version 7 to 9.5 are ok if someone knows Im interested in buying these versions
Juan:
Welcome to the forum!
You have posted in a pretty narrow subtopic, few people will see it here. It would probably be better to post in the general VUE forum as a new topic.
I don't know where you could find legitimate copies of those older versions of VUE. Even if you could, I am not sure if you could activate them.
