Thread: Realflow and vue | Forum: Vue
I've been studying the possibility of doing the same, and for what i know, it's very hard to integrate the realflow water to vue (although possible) but i think maybe you could try to integrate both in a software like Maya. to be honest i simply gave up.

Someone suggested (in another forum) that the actual problem might be that the camera is too far away to actually see the movement.
I did a render test with a closer camera, and the water moves smoothly, so it is indeed working, but it still won't solve the problem that from a far away shot it the movement looks like crap.
Still working on it!

Thanks to your post, I've been able to animate water without trouble in every scene. Except for one case.
I tried several times, even starting again from scratch, and nothing.
Im using an infinity terrain (red rock and sand), its scaled vertically, and then I added a default metawater (i tried others too), and although I can access to the atributtes of the water animation (the displaces over surface, wind velocity and whatnot) it doesn't do anything. It just flickers in the same spot.
Now, I thought it might have something to do with the fact that the displaced over surface value is set to -189.6, meaning that the water is too low, and that something like that might afect it. I moved it to 100cm, and even to 10m, and it's still the same weird flickering.
Any ideas? this is what the scene looks like

Thread: Aurora borealis (aka northern lights) in vue? | Forum: Vue
Hey all, im sorry to raise this threead from the dead, but considering this is the ONLY place in the internet where i could find something regarding Aurora borealis and Vue, i needed to ask.
Is there any way to animate this effect that you guys managed to do? The scene would be just that, an iceberg, and the aurora borealis moving the way it does in nature
Any and ALL suggestions are welcomed :)

Thread: why there're some strange CD icon-style stuff in my render? | Forum: Vue
Im pretty sure that happens when you install a demo version of Vue, or when you don't license it, but it looks like an E-on watermark, and on your picture it doesn't look quite like it so im honestly puzzled...
i'd recommend deleting every single vue folder from your computer (even the licenses hidden within the program files folder of windows) and try reinstalling it.
Thread: How do I create a shadow in Maya & Vue? (Newbie) | Forum: Vue
In maya, using regular polygons the way to make shadows with imply 2 things. First you'd need to create any sort of light and go to its atributes (right click on it and the first option, or the third button on the top right of the screen, there you scroll down to the shadows, and choose whether you want the depth map shadows or the raytrace shadows. Then you'd need to go to your render options, and activate the raytrace option, so that the shadow actually appears on screen.
Maybe that you can achieve a shadow from your plant? Lighting it the right way?
Hope it helps!
Thread: Underwater Animation in Vue | Forum: Vue

Still, If someone knows how to do it! It ould really come in handy, at the very least to get the wavy motion of the shadows on the floor, like on this video

Thread: Vue water Transparency | Forum: Vue
Hey, thanks for the tips. I checked the color transmitted light and it's on a 100%. Im going to try using a flat terrain and see what happens next!
