I wasn't going to respond to this thread anymore because it was never my intent to turn this into a flame war. Initially, I responded because I don't like the idea of people taking cheap shots at folks that are working their tails off doing the best they can. Ok, I was a fool to think I could change anyone's opinion on this board. But I'm responding here to the latest bashing of Oliver. You see, I stick up for my friends like some here stuck up for Miz. So in that, we have something in common.
Oliver, for as much as you folks want to bust his chops is one of the hardest workers in CG/Poser that I've known, and I've known a few. He is always 100% giving with any knowledge he has. His constant encouragement and patience to others who are struggling is something that is in short supply in this world. So bust on him if you will folks, but you're dead wrong and blind to reality.
I used to spend a lot of time on this board and decreased that because I was fed up with this kind of whining backstabbing behavior that seemed to be growing as time went on. Life's too short folks! All I'm saying is you can chose to try to make Poser and yourselves as creatives better by working hard and together for those goals, or you can continue on like this thread and bash the hell out of those who are working at it. My suggestion, quit complaining and ripping people and figure out how each one of you individually can make it better.
My best wishes to you all in your efforts!

Thread: EF-CP-G2 Promises, Integrity, Honesty and Accusations | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Miz look, take a breath. Look at the heading you put on this thread. Then, look at what you said in your first and third post. These are accusations without merit because they for the most part rely on intent. Can you prove intent? No. You only have your whining in the wind. If these are truly valid concerns/complaints of yours then I suggest that you contact eF directly when they get back. To flame them behind their back where they can't defend themselves are the actions of one you may not want to be when you grow up.
As I said, take a breath. Hope you have a better day tomorrow.

Miz, if you can't handle people calling your behavior for what it is than act like an adult for goodness sake. As for ignoring your posts, trust me, I usually do because of the aformentioned "spoiled child whiney" behavior. I stand by what I said before. You sound like that when you "dis" software makers and beta testers who work like heck to get it right. And this isn't the only thread you've taken that tact on. Have a little respect and maybe you would get some of the same for your observations in the future. All I'm saying is that there are a lot of people out there in the 3D community trying like heck to make it better whether they are making software, beta testing, or being mods for boards like this. Its just wrong to whine and moan about their efforts when they are the ones who are lifting a finger to make things better.
What have you done for the community today?
Have a good one Miz, hope you're feeling better soon!

Miz, where the heck do you justify getting on your high horse and passing judgement on what you THINK the folks at eF are doing with their time. You know, you sound like a three year old complaining for his sippy cup the way you won't let it go. As for the accusations that they intentionally let slip a deadline, good grief, welcome to the world of software. Have you taken a look over at ZBrush and seen the couple of months till their update was to be released turn to a year? I know those folks are working their tails off trying to make the best product they can, while you are doing what? Complaining.
Get your head out...

Thread: Material settings problem | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well Gosh Mizrael I never even thought of going out for debate, probably because I've been a creative all my life. Nice cut with the politician line, 'bout as low as calling me a lawyer. As far as you being human and having memory leaks, well, I was ready to say hey been there myself, know what you mean. I snapped at you because you were taking the tone of sarcastic rudeness.
As far as continuing this pissing match feel free to go on without me for my intent was not to personally disparage but to stick up for a principle, something that seems horribly lacking sometimes. You have yourself a good day and as far as Starkdog goes, if he truly does have the posted health issues then I wish him the best. -jay
Thread: Material settings problem | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Mizrael you stated that your assumption was that Starkdog was NOT trying to make some sort of non-rendering product. Here are his words, and the first sentance is his admission:
"I have been looking for velvet and satin shaders to use with my dynamic dresses. I found some shader settings at RDNA freebies. In the readme, these settings cannot be used to create commercial or free products. So, with that in mind, can I create shaders with slightly different settings, in order to avoid a big stink? I'm starting to think that some people in this community are way too selfish. I do realize that it takes work to develop such things, but why try to lay claim and horde what Poser does internally? Thanks, -Starkdog"
The point is that he is admitting he is taking a shortcut and ripping off someone else's work to save himself time because he perceives that the work has no real value because its just spinning the dials so to speak. I wonder how a fine shader technician like face_off would feel about his work being considered just spinning the dials. Seems to me that dial spinning of his is sold for a fair price in this marketplace. Just trying to establish that shader work can be long and laborious and therefore worthy of just and fair compensation.
The shaders in point were offered for free by Traveler, a nice gesture of giving back to the Poser community, with the caveat that they weren't to be resold for profit. That is his right. For Starkdog to just say he doesn't like this rule and whine that its "selfish" sounds to me like the excuse of one too lazy to put in the hours to make something of quality. As a consumer, I take note of this attitude from a content provider.
As for you Mizrael, read what he said and, "learn the language!"

You know Starkdog, (and I'm gonna try to hold back on my response here to be polite,) the whole deal about people putting out freestuff is to try to give back to the community with some of their work. Now, here you go and start calling them selfish. Rather ungrateful I'd say. I frankly expected more out of you and the folks who agreed with you here. But then again... this is Renderosity.

Thread: RuntimeDNA site hacked | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
OMG, some of you folks really need to just relax or a moment. I'm as adamant against hackers as anyone, including jail time, disembowelment and castration but check out the date and scroll to the bottom of the page, all is made clear. "Un-professional" please...before getting too high and mighty about merchants Tereesa you may want to look at past Renderosity actions... anyone remember "Renda?" Some of you folks are just taking yourselves way too seriously.
Thread: Poser does not like my maps/textures ?! what the Funk is wrong..... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Chris, are you on a MAC? If so, there is a max texture size for Poser of "4091". Notice, I said for MAC! If PC, don't know what to say. -jay

Thread: the Great Shoulder Issue Solved! Guess this model. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've said it before that imho Apollo is the best usable male character out there. By that I mean the most economical and the easiest to deform and work with. Anton did a wonderful job on him! -jay

Thread: Runtime Organization Tutorial? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Or you could go to the eFrontier website, makers of Poser for their tutorials. Go to the DAZ site and they're just going to subtly dis Poser as they want you to use Daz Studio. (Before anyone wants to take me to task on that comment go there and read the tutorial.) Sending someone to DAZ for a Poser organizational tutorial is like sending someone interested in buying a Toyota to a Ford dealership. Sorry Acadia, don't mean to be rude. -jay
