Quote - Hi! First time posting. I've not had much time in RL to play with Reality, but I lave it. Now I need to learn lighting and how to adjust settings etc. Anyone know of good tutorial? Critism is always welcome. I need all the help I can get. LOL Well here's my first pix. Definetly need help with the lighting. Thanks.
Welcome! You might not get a lot of response around here of the weekends.
To start with the image you posted is way over exposed. This can be adjusted this on the fly in Lux. The more info you post about your render and how it was set up will help us help you, such as type of lighting you used etc, screen captures of the setup helps. there are some tutorials on Paolo's site, link http://www.preta3d.com .
You can also check out, http://www.facebook.com/RealityPlugIn , http://twitter.com/preta3d and https://plus.google.com/106625816153304163119.
I would also suggest reading or Goggling information on photography such as lighting setups and camera settings etc. Rendering with Lux is like using a real camera in the real world, forget about all the Poser and Studio tricks you won't need them here.
I kind of thru this together in hopes that it would point you in the right direction and give you an idea of what to study. Hope it helps...
Keep it simple to start with, use mesh lights and stay away from spots and distant lights.

In British English, "on a promise" simply means that you have arranged to or at least expect to have an intimate encounter with someone - usually your regular partner.
I can never understand why, when your date said to pick her up at a specific time, you have to wait another half an hour before she is ready.
As usual, very nice. Robert's correct, never ask. Just let it go. By the way where is Abi?
Thanks. I thought she was with you
You didn't leave her chained to the wall did you?

Quote - Krazyhorse, really nice render. Very interesting.
Mbin, your lab is looking super good. You're achieved a very nice atmosphere, it reminds me of an Indiana Jones sort of thing.
Thank you. It was an interesting scene to work with. There is so much depth to it.

Quote - Sort of off topic but not really. Finished my first ibl with vue last night. This was a full (yet small and basic) scene. Saved it out with 4000x2000 jpg, exr and hdr. The quality of the picture itself wasn't what I was hoping. It was a tad washed out when I put the jpg on the reality ibl sphere. The upside was that it rendered really nice. I was getting double the speed from this light than I have out of other ibl's I've used. All three files together come to about 90mb in a rar file; so, I'm not really sure where to put it to enable others to download it. Anyway.. here's the render I created using it....
What background??? The lighting is great, makes her skin pop... But then again, she's popping anyway you want to look at it. hehe!
You might try taking that BG image into PS/Gimp and increase the contrast but that will also change the light value as well. Or you could just post in the BG.

Quote - This is last nights overnight test run. (It includes the 'lightning' that superboom pointed to in an earlier post; it seems to work very well in this scene! - so thanks for that superboom! `¬)) it is free from runtime dna http://www.runtimedna.com/RDNA-Atmospherics-Lightning-Vol-1.html
I have now extended the environment image so that the appearance in the glass reflections are correct, and have added the lightning to the the globe. I have also converted the tube stand to glass, as in this new scene (where the tube rack and globe intersection was corrected) the tube rack will not Dform easily due to the increased mesh density... (still a little noisy, but not worried about that at the moment)
I am now test running a little added 'atmosphere' if you know what I mean! - although there are still some textures to finish as well...
Looking very nice indeed. The globe looks great, very nice effect.

a great shot CrazyHorse! ...some very good posing, makes it look very dramatic! a little depth of field might help remove the fact that the castle door pulls the eyes away from the action, but its still an excellant image! `¬)
Thanks! I should have used some depth on it you are correct about that. I was hoping the bloom would warsh out the BG more than it did...
