I don't think it's the home page.  I get it when I click on the My Forums link only, then it takes you to their own forum page

Well, if their art isnt very good to begin with, it probably wouldnt get stolen anyway, lol.

If Rendo tries to do something that's great, but if not, then these artists need to try to do something themselves.

Maybe they will, but my point is..... if an artist really wants to protect his work, that artist should find a way to watermark it or keep it offline.

It should not just be left up to whatever site allows you to upload images.  The artist does have a responsibility also.  They cant just complain about people stealing their art and leave it up to everyone else to prevent the theft.

True, but people steal images from tons of other sites too.  It is one of the downfalls of uploading ANYthing .... someone, somewhere, might copy/download/steal it.

Personally, I just don't think it is Renderosity's job to watermark anyone's images, that should be left up to the individual. 

Can't you just add your own watermarks?  If people are so concerned about someone stealing their art, maybe they shouldn't upload anything.

Not that my opinion counts for much, but I agree with Lucie.  This is one the few websites that does not send me unsolicited advertising (at least they didn't until now) and I would like to keep it that way.  I get enough spam already and I don't need more.

oops, I think I was wrong about that.  I dont think there is a limit to file size, just image dimensions.

It could be the file size.  If its more than is allowed, it may give you the width or height error

What I did (until a couple yrs ago when all hell broke loose in my family and took most of my time) was to offer a free product to any of my customers that had purchased several items from me during the course of a year.  

And I have been on the receiving end of an offer like that a few times, from vendors offering their own thank yous to their customers.

But if you have tons of customers it has to be difficult to do anything like that.  And I agree that emailing or site mailing a personal thank you does not sit well with a lot of people.  They dont want to be bothered reading all that, lol.  They just want to make a purchase and be able to get some customer support from a vendor in a timely manner.

You do realize that most, if not all, vendors usually put a "thank you" statement in their readme?  This is the equivalent of having that same statement on a purchase receipt from a store (or Walmart ).

Vendors appreciate all the sales they make, but this is not an online auction where you would expect a seller to contact you regarding shipping, etc.  As a buyer here, I already know I am appreciated by the vendor when I purchase a product from them.  All i really expect is a little product support, IF it is needed.  That is my thank you.

So what exactly is it you want from the vendors you buy from?  Do you also expect WalMart to send you a thank-you note every time you purchase something from them?

Same here.  Normally my orders are ready for download immediately when I use Paypal.  Have they been having some kind of problem lately or is it on this end?  If its Paypal, I dont think I want to use that option from now on.

I finally got that to download but still had to try twice.  It was strange that only the one gave me trouble.

Maybe we are forgetting that we don't all use the same graphics card, or display resolution. What I render on my computer probably looks totally different on someone else's, even using the default Poser lights. And monitors differ ... so unless you have the exact same equipment as the person you made your purchase from, AND the same graphics card, AND the same display resolution, etc.... your render cannot possibly look exactly the same.
