Slight development. Apparently Daz are offering everything for free.... after all that studying and your help too ! Very mixed feelings but I sure could do with the money....so see how it goes for the time being I guess ? If there's a Daz forum on here that would be great as I really feel at home now.....

Goodness thank you both ! Firstly to bring you up to date I've also been on a Daz forum in the last day or two which I think is self-explanatory trying to understand it all as well, to the extent that they've now created a new thread about it as they can't understand what's happening either ! Had to cancel trip today due to bad weather....

Meantime I'm ok with all the library stuff in principle thanks though still having to refer to the manual all the time but this is routine stuff and just the learning side. But as you'll see from the Daz thread the basic problem currently seems to be that there's no Save option only Run which made me wonder if Debut is incompatible with something, and why I decided to re-install it again this morning. Problem was the same thing kept happening only this time it crashed whilst loading all the library elements. Incidentally I created the temporary file labelled Pos as I gave up looking for the original Poser library, even though they were listed on the right hand side of the workscreen.
So fortunately not having paid for anything and as it's all getting a frustrating muddle this end, I really want to get on and not waste any more time with Debut. So I've uninstalled them both and now want to trial/ buy (?) whatever Poser version that suits permanently, so whatever you recommend at the cheapest price will be great thanks. It'll be more learning but as I've finished Chapter 7 it makes a whole lot more sense to go down this long term and practical route rather than fiddling around any more with Debut I think...

Do you mean as in the first attachment I posted of the two ? If so look above the empty file one....

I also clicked several times on the top Mill Horse entry 12,137 kb but it kept crashing and wanting to send error reports....

Unfortunately the horse has no file sizes anywhere, either on the Daz original order page nor on the final paid account file. However you'll see some of the various programmes in the attachment that could be used to open it though I've no idea which one....

Thanks sorry for the delay. Unfortunately there weren't any file sizes displayed on the downloaded files so couldn't check, however I've just managed to download the Millenium horse which was free. It went into the Daz3D library ok but not knowing what to click on as there were so many files I had to take a guess (!) but all that came up was Andy. Then I got an apologies for the inconvenience message saying it would have to close down and did I want to send an error report.
I contacted Support yesterday evening but no reply yet however they're hoping to clear the backlog of tickets by Friday so best till wait till then I think....
Thanks again for all the help it's much appreciated

There is no Poser.exe anywhere, however I'm in the programme at this moment cross referencing with the Manual about "Display Menu Commands" in Chapter 6 with no problem.
Double clicking on Celestial Hair. exe I always get a panel appearing saying at the top "Open File - Security Warning." Then below "The publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software ? Then "Unknown Publisher" below that. I often get this panel appearing on downloads though it's never caused a problem before....?

Yes in the Installers file "Install Poser Debut.exe" 254,994KB. The wording's correct though as it was the first one I came across there might still be other files....

I've just been reading it looks like a big problem most of which is over my head but at least it doesn't sound like it's this end. What a pity just have to be patient for a while longer but very many thanks indeed everyone for all your great help.
