Quote - Of course V4 can take V5 maps. A litte postwork and Bob's your uncle...
That looks pretty close. I compared texture map templates yesterday, and they looked pretty close. Thanks for the picture.

Quote - Yeah, works the other way but not V5 to V4 I'm afraid.

Yeah, okay now I recall seeing that somewhere. I'm comparing the texture maps now to see where the difference lies.
Thanks for all the help everyone.

Seems like I recall these looked to be better modelled than V4's teeth. They're on sale for $5
Thread: What percentage of poser renders actually have proper faces for v4? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
V4's basic face is really a blank canvas. I know a lot of people complain about it, but trying to start with one that already has an ethnic design or personality built into it and work back is very hard. The V4 face shown here is no one in particular but about the best I can do right now with PP2012.
Good Luck

Fresnel reflection on skin via EZskin really slows things down if you're using it. Multiple lights will also slow a DH render down.
How long did that render take?
Long for me is about 12 to 15 minutes. I have four lights on that one. My EZskin settings are the same as with transmapped hair, but are you saying somehow the fresnel reflect interacts with the dynamic hair to slow things down? Hummmm.
Thanks

Any ideas for speeding up the render of dynamic hair?
I'm using PP2012 and have most of the render settings at pretty low values as I do a lot of "quick renders" to get the look right before doing any detailed ones. I often turn radiosity off for transmapped hair, but doing that for dynamic hair really kills the look. Any ideas?
Thanks
Thread: Reality 3 & Lighting | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
While we're talking about this, any update on the Reality 3 release date for Poser? The date was orginally set as November.
Thanks
Thread: V4.2 joint problems | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I want to say it has happened to me with an older version of Poser. I think it was a memory issue, because I recall I quite Poser and then re-started it and the problem went away. I've not had that problem since switching to PP2012.
Good luck
Thread: Vascularity/veins for V4 and M4 - Product and Merchant Resource W.I.P | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Just wanted to bubble this one to the top and see if there was any progress. Any idea of a release date? This is one product I'm really looking forward to.
Thanks
Thread: Torn Ripped Raggedy Clothing for Poser Figures | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - It would be really cool if one of the Market Vendors made a full line of Torn Ripped Raggedy Post Apocalyptic Zombie Clothing so that people could do scenes with a large amount of Refugees or Zombies without repetition in the clothes. I bet they would make a lot of money selling a library bundle of Poser Male and Female Clothing like that. Anyone out there up for the challenge? I'd pay good money for something like that. -Thanks
Since you mentioned a "large" number of zombies, have you seen this item?

Might be more useful for background use. I do not own the product. I think you could use the pictures you posted in the same way as this product works to generate similar background figures. I think the basic idea is an image of a figure put onto a flat plate and the use of a transparency map to remove the parts around the figure.
Good luck.
Thread: Fun Halloween Freebie Ideas Needed.. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - OK folks .....drum roll ...The winner is Mark@poser. ...
I just wanted to publicly thank mrsparky for his generosity here. I was just happy to get his Halloween freebie which is pretty neat. People like him keep me coming back to Renderosity and the forum. I'm home with pneumonia this week, so this is a nice surprise and will distract me from the coughing.
Thanks again.

I saw you post this one the other day, but forgot to ask. What hair is that? It's really nice.
Thanks
Isabel Hair for V4 from Daz. AprilYSH I believe.

Okay thanks, I found it...
Thread: Can someone unemotionally state the advantages of Genesis over V4/M4 in Poser? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - well, sadly i rather found disadvantages.
the importer thingie worked quite well, also the figure seems to morph fine (i only have the starter pack) but after some playing things came to an aprupt halt for me.
No one noticed the -very- conservative limits they have put on every single axis?
try to bend the arms behind the back - you can't. raise the knees, it stops at a very low angle.
try a more 'extreme' Spiderman-Pose.....
sure, you can tick those limits off, but this can become a very tedious work after a while and shouldn't be nescessary in the first place.
it's a first disadvantage.
second drawback:
Poser doesn't export the Genesis figure correct. neither to Vue nor as OBJ you seem to get a sub-devided mesh (see butt in image above), so external rendering is a no-go, what breaks my workflow.
third point, already mentioned, without spending a lot of money you can't do anything with the figure, what may be nice for DAZ, but i'm not willing to do.
my impression is - if you'd like to work with Genesis - do it in DAZ Studio, that'll probably save you some trouble.
edit: oh - and don't click on "Figure - Use limits" - or pooooff - genesis dissapears like a jinny :)
Some interesting feedback, so thanks for sharing.

Quote - I didn't read the whole thread, but just wanted to add my 2 cents.
... if Victoria 4 works for you right now, and there isn't a point for you in which you say "I REALLY can't do this with Victoria 4" ... then I don't see there's a reason for switching to Genesis other than trying a new figure.....
I think that is becoming the bottom line to me. I think others posted similar feelings. Everyone waits until that one package comes out they can't do without and then they take the plunge.
Thanks
