Wait... an update to my previous post (editing time expired, so I cannot edit it)
Also, the green rods I mentioned before... well, I guess I dont want to mess with them afterall. They change the way the bend looks.
The other two questions still stand though.
Thread: Help? Trying to make a conforming dress.... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Steve... you pretty much fixed my problem!
I do have some Q's though for you when you get back:
I WAS able to adjust the green "rods" within the Setup window though. By doing this, I managed to get things working (I will need to fine tune it later though... time for bed now), but I would still like to know what dials you were referring to.
How do you do the figure symmetry?
This one is somewhat-related to all this, but I was hoping that maybe you know more about this stuff and can better explain it to me because I played around with it on my last outfit, but couldnt really understand it:
Can you explain what the four dials under the Bulge Settings mean? I need to apply bulge too (I ALWAYS get elbow poke on all my clothes), but I cannot figure out exactly what all the dials do. It is difficult to tweak a dial, go to Pose window, see the effect, return to Setup, tweak a dial again, return back to Pose window to see any changes, repeat, repeat, repeat.
You have: right neg, right pos, left pos, left neg; each one can have either a + or - value.

I was actually trying to avoid anything dynamic only because Poser seems to try to "stretch" the fabric for some reason. It is probably my fabric settings though. I can kinda-sorta use the cloth room, but am a noob at it too. Really, I am only good at using the Pose room LOL.
*I do know how to get clothing to drape by putting the T-Pose on frame 1 and the final pose on frame 30, etc etc. It is only fabric behavior that I lack knowledge of.
EDIT: Also, I did try making it a normal dynamic dress, but the shoulder puffs...
"deflated." How do I solve that if I did the hybrid?
How would I do the Dyn/Conf hybrid?
It sounds to me -correct me if I am wrong- like I still do the grouping (AutoGroup Editor) and boning (QuickConform) like I already did, , but then use the cloth room once I get V4 posed. Am I right?
I can try the hybrid thing either tomorrow or the day after AND once I get confirmation on how to do it. However, I would still like to do the conforming version if I can. I just prefer conforming because it is easier to use (apparently it is harder to make though LOL).

If anyone needs any additional images to help me, please let me know exactly what they need.
Also, kust as an FYI, the dress isnt textured yet. I will do that once I get the movements working properly.
Thread: Render Rewards? | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
Ah, yes. Now I remember!
Thanks and sorry for the trouble. I guess my biggest problem was because I was thinking that during checkout, it would tell me how much Render Rewards I had available. I totally forgot that I need to copy and paste the number/code.
Again, sorry for the trouble.
Thread: Render Rewards? | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
I can see the most recent Render Rewards in my account (and Ill take your word for the other months as I cannot remember exact spending amounts), but when I try to check out, everything says I have $0.
How do I use the Render Rewards now? I either forgot (-_-) or something changed on me within the system.
Thanks
Thread: Render Rewards? | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
Yeah, not quite the answer I was expecting.
The problem is that for some of the last couple of months (not ALL of them, but SOME of them), I have spent $100 or more and have not received any rewards. I see nothing under Members > My Account > Render Rewards... thus I cant use anything at checkout I guess.
If I can remember correctly, I havent gotten anything since January 2011. :/
Thanks for the reply though.

Definitely was a mix of hardware (computer) and software (OS) issue.
I finally got Windows 7 x64 installed (had to do it 3 times... basically it wouldnt install right until I reformatted my HDD) and now I can render the scene without any problems. I almost use all of my 6GB of RAM though... So maybe I should try to cut down on some of the details a bit.
Thanks for all your help everyone! :)

Actually, it is SOOOOOO funny that you mentioned that because I realized earlier today that Windows 7 was only recognizing and using 4 of my 6GB of RAM...
So I just finished installing Windows 7 64-bit and am now trying to set up my computer's OS again as I type this (fresh install and all).
W7 is currently recognizing 5.99GB/6GB (makes me happy since my new mobo can fit up to 24GB of RAM) and is running much faster, so maybe now things will work in Poser? Once I get it reinstalled that is.

Yes yes YES!
Thank you so much! That works perfectly, and now I know a new materials technique :D

I just updated my PC (actually, I built a brand new one) and the scene still won't render in Poser. Now, this tells me that for whatever reason, the render engine just cannot handle the scene. Probably due to too many vertices or whatever.
Oh well.
My new PC specs are:
COMPUTER:
-Motherboard: MSI Big Bang XPower
-Video Card: NVidia GTX-460, 1GB and latest driver (AND HEY! My games work!!)
-Processor: i7-950 3.06GHz
-RAM: 6GB DDR3 (Ill upgrade to more once my wallet recovers)
-OS: Windows 7 32bit Home Premium; up to date with all Windows updates.
The only thing I changed in Poser was the thread count and the bucket size. I now use 8 threads and a bucket size of 32.
The scene still wont render, and it's ok now because I have moved on anyways (gave up; got tired of stressing myself out over it).
But man! When I render other stuff now, I can render in HQ and it takes only minutes!!!!! :D
Yippee!

I just updated my video card driver and it didnt do anything to help me.
Quote - Just out of curiosity...what is the total poly/vertex count on all the objects in your scene?
Laurie
I dont know how to answer this. Sorry.
Quote - The usual way I tackle these is to remove all the foreground props , and render the image , then reload the scene , and delete the background stuff, render and composite the two images in Photoshop.
I may just have to resort to this. I know that if I render the same scenes but with fewer objects, then they work.

Just an FYI to everyone:
I can render figures (like Victoria 4) perfectly fine with my current settings (even with the 15000 bucket size).
This is why I think maybe it is due to how many seperate props and stuff I have in my scene.
(BTW, I do have a lot of bumped textures, but very few with transparencies.)
