Woohoo!!! Fixed it!!! I re-ran the 4.1 update, and then reloaded the program and injected the muscle morphs. It works now.
Thanks for the help everyone.
Thread: INJectors... How to use? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Trying it now... I don't remember seeing any Muscle Morphs options... but I'm going to load up the program and see what I get.
Thank you, this is EXACTLY what I was trying to find out.
Loading Daz*
And I'm back.... Nope. No Muscle Morphs. There is an icon on the left that shows a very beefy victoria with a + sign in the corner of the icon, there is also an icon next to that one that has the same picutre in black and white with a "-" in the corner.
Is there a step that I'm missing? I load a figure, I go to Content > Poses > DAZ's Victoria 4 > Morph Injections. Then I click on the icon. I get a little loading window in the center of the screen, and then it disappears without changing anything....
I'm going to try re-installing.

Right, and then a window opens up in DOS and you see it run the script and then, presto! Everything should work. I ran the script. But I can't figure out how to make the Injectors do anything (or, rather, I don't see any way to manipulate them in Daz, where should I look for the dials etc?).

The Muscle Morphs appear as a separate group, under the other morph groups for Victoria 4.1 (not Victoria 4 plain). If they aren't appearing make sure that you aren't using the Rem poses, that you installed to the same folder as for the base figure (and Morphs++ if you have it) and that you ran the updater utility (or for Windows allowed the installer to run it),
Hmmm... I'm not sure I understand. Other morph gourps? Other than what? And Rem poses...? I have some "muscle" poses that came with it, but they are just poses. They don't change the musculature ofthe figure. In the INJectors folder, there is a "+" injectors and a "-" injectors icon that apparently adds or removes the injectors from the figure, but again, selecting either of these has no effect that I can find.

Thread: Very Confused: how do I make... ANYTHING??? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Okay, so I found the manual!!! Whohoo!!! I was originally looking for one in the software, but it turns out I had to download it from the DAZ website (I only accidentally stumbled across it, too!). So I've got things going with the default figure, but it's not quite sophisticated enough as far as what you can do with the figure.
I want to be able to manipulate the individual bone structures and individual muscles and such, rather than just increase the scale of a partiular body part.
So, if I download V4, is that compatible with the free version of DAZ? And is V4 simply a more sophisticated version, or can I get some software that will enhance the default Victoria that I have (I think it is V3)?
I noticed some muscle maps/muscle morphs over on the DAZ website, but I can't tell if they are just textures or if they actually allow manipulation of individual muscles/muscle groups. Does anyone know for sure?

As for mastering the software, that will take me a while, but it seems that the "base" software is a little bit too limited to accomplish the level of detail that I'm going for. That is, I already know what I want it to look like, and I already know what (exactly) needs to be changed in order to make what I want, but the kinds of changes possible (i.e. scale changes) don't permit me to do exactly what I want to do.
Thanks for all the input so far. It has been really helpful in getting me started.

Yes, I just wanted to know how to get things going. I guess the I will start playing with the victoria model for now.
As for it taking a long time to master, well, it took me 20+ years to get where I am with my 2D art (I am 26), so I don't expect everything to be a cake walk. But it's something I'm interested in and am willing to put in the time.
Thanks for helping me out everyone.
Just for reference, the character I created that I want to make a 3D version of can be found about half way down this thread:

The program I have is just called "Blender." Is that different from "Blender 3D"? Also, using that program, I can't do anything either. Is there some place I can download a free sample figure to mess around with, or will I need to buy my first one?
Thread: Very Confused: how do I make... ANYTHING??? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Also, I have blender, too, but I couldn't figure out how to use that one either!! I'm accustomed to just taking a pencil and making the shapes that I want, rather than having to figure out which tool does what etc....

Hmmmm.... This is way over my head.
Is there a program that will let me make a person, and if so, what is it called. I don't care about rendering or anything like that for the moment, since I don't have anything to render. I just want to make a 3D character.
I'm completely brand new to the whole 3D thing, so what do I need build one from scratch?
Help is appreciated.

I want to make person. How do I get a person to show up on my screen? What is the basic program I need to create a 3D image of a human being?

An example of what I would like to do is render the above character in 3D

If all you want to do is make "3D Art Images", then all you need is something like Poser or Daz|Studio, and a graphic program such as Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop or something else.
You can get Daz|Studio free from Daz3d here:
http://www.daz3d.com/i.x/software/studio/-/?
It doesn't have all of the bells and whistles that Poser does, but it's free and it will give you an idea as to whether you actually like using such software. Better to try something free first IMHO.
If you like it, you can get Poser, which has more advanced ability.
The current version of Poser is Version 7. However, if money is a problem and you still want to get Poser, you can still find copies of Poser 5 for sale for really cheap because places are getting rid of their inventory.
You can get a new registerable copy of Poser 5 here for $50 USD

You can get Poser 7 here:
Once you have the software, you need to know some basics. I have a mini essay for new users here:

Organization is paramount when you are dealing with 3D graphics, especially with programs such as Poser. Your runtime folder (what holds your content that you use) will quickly grow and if you don't start out organized, you will quickly find that you won't be able to locate anything.
Here is a post that shows how I manage my runtimes so that I can find things. There are lots of ways to organize, and each person quickly finds their own method, but here is mine:

If you eventually want to get into creating your own models IE: props, clothing, figures etc, then you will need to have a 3D modelling program such as 3D Studio Max, Hexagon or whatever other types of 3D modelling programs are out there.
