Hey everyone with suggestions......Thanks. For over a year I tried to get a reply from Eon on buying anything. All I got from their sales team was ads.
Thread: Vue going subscription | Forum: Vue
Wow................I bought a new computer last year and went from Windows 7 to 10. Nothing worked including Vue11 infinite. So I reinstalled and discovered it was calling for a disk 2 (either it didn't come with one or I lost it in the move we made. But when installing it deleted the old Vue files....mistake!!!!! After that I discovered that Windows 10 changed the way the file hierarchy was done. Which is why Vue couldn't find its files. Contacting Eon support they couldn't help. So I tried to buy the latest version including emails to sales.....nothing except ads in return. Today I go to their site and find.........".rent a Vue". No dice not on my part. I have been with Vue since V4. I buy, I don't rent. I guess it's going to be back to Bryce .
Thread: What is the problen with Eon sales? | Forum: Vue
Will do so. Actually I wanted the latest Vue -- 16i. Got it confused with a Poser release. Just got some sort of an e-mail answer that wanted to update my message requirements. One problem is the time difference. (West coast USA on my end). Thanks for the reply.

Well that explains the first question. BTW thanks for the answer. Doesn't answer the second though. I'm using Windows 10 and the latest stable version of Wings.

I thought I had read that links were OK as long as the site you linked to didn't have a market place. It seems fair to me. BUT (there's always a but). We do seem to be losing people.
Thread: Victoria 7 | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Man I love this forum! Start out with V7 (if that's the base figure....WOW) and end up with ..................! I think one complete solution to the whole DAZ/SM debate would be to have one buy the other. But is that exactly what is wanted?
Thread: Future of "free stuff" section | Forum: Freestuff
Lucien your stuff is FIRST RATE! There used to be a comments section if I remember correctly but it wasn't used all that much. I think Rendo removed it for that reason.

Like ssgbryan I tend to "Lurk" on the forums. I still use Poser8 because I have invested a lot in V3 ( and it works fine ......after the IE11 fiasco) but...........I use Poser for exporting figures into Vue for my final work. I did invest in Poser10 but am not impressed.
Judy? I thought she got married and left!
All the Figures up to V4 have a use in Vue. It depends on what I have in mind. Several other forums on this site seem to have a lull. I think that when a new figure or version comes along, it does generate more interest and of course more traffic.
But I still regard the new features with interest.
Hey Pitklad long time no see/hear!
Thread: Update for Windows Update for Win 7 and Vista; fixes update errors | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yeah after the IE11 fiasco, I go over every "upgrade" manually. Though............I haven't seen the above errors. (But I'm now prepared)

For anybody still having Poser 8 problems. the solution is pretty simple to get IE 11 off their "puters". Go to Control panel (program features-turn windows features on or off) and tell windows not to use IE11 then uninstall IE 11 (which is listed as an Windows upgrade). Then either use the MS "block IE11" program to prevent the installation or just forbid Windows from automatically installing upgrades without your approval (ie: IE 11). IE 11 is listed as an optional ugrade (go figure). Restart and Poser 8 is back in ful.

Thread: Poser 8 is Suddenly not Supported on Windows 7??? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The crux in this matter is not that SM is not providing support in the way of upgrades to P8. It's that in business if you want customers to continue to buy your products: you have to show them you support them. SM has a problem in that there is an alternative out there. I never said I expected them to provide an update but I did expect them to remember that I own one of their products. (actually every Poser since P4). A note from them advising the problem and the quick fix would have done that. Computers and data bases have made that kind stuff fairly easy (Obama Care excepted). Corel for example, I still use Corel draw/paint which is way out of date. But I still get offers from them. The data base is there. Why not use it?
We P8/P12 users are not alone. A customer called me today and in conversation advised that his high end accounting problem had quit working and he was calling to tell me that my payment would be a little late because they were having to make checks out by hand. When I asked about which windows he was using he hadn't switched to W8 because it wasn't supported by his program. I advised him of the problem and ten minutes later he called back to thank me. I get my money on time :) His IT people were still working on the problem when he told them to "restore" (He knows diddly about computers so he was thrilled when he got tell his IT prople what to do!)

"You can thank Uncle Sam for the port issue, they made it a condition in the Netscape case by forcing MS to make IE part of the op system or exclude it... So now it is required to use the op system, and the ports....."
Go figure!
As I said Thanks for the info. We'll have to see how this plays out!
