I'm using a GeForce 2 GTS, which has been around awhile. Poser Pro Pack has done this periodically ever since I installed it. I may look into getting the newest video drivers, though. In any case, I'm finding that I like the better quality and control I have when creating the thumbnails as renders anyway--the workaround turned out to be an improvement over the original method. ^_^

Yep, I'm using the Pro Pack. The issue doesn't seem to be related to whether the item is selected or not, and it always stores the geometry info--it just fails to make the .PNG file. I started rendering them myself as you suggested--it's nice to see the thumbnails with hair now. ^_^

Thanks, Jamball77--checking those other options in the export dialog did the trick. Funny, I couldn't find any useful info on those in the manual. Aleks- The Export as Morph Object checkbox should export the mesh without altering the coordinates. I've exported body parts lots of times into Max and messed with them, then reimported them as Morph targets without problems. If you're using Max, there's a good tutorial here:Thread: Help with shadows... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yep, dial up the Map Size to 1024 (that seems to be the maximum), and you may also want to turn down the Shadow (density) a bit so the shading isn't so dark. Even so, you may find that the shadows are shifted off-axis a bit. When I want better light control, I take the Poser model into MAX.

Thanks for the definitions Jaagar. I'm learning about all kinds of aspects of Poser (as well as third party utilities like CR2Edit) that I had no idea existed. MaryCanary, thanks for the suggestion--Hopefully MAX will behave itself, and I'll have to resist the temptation to reduce the poly count of the model as I did with the original. I'll try a quick and dirty test to see before going too far. Thanks too for the props on the "Sakura" character. ^_^ I got hold of Objaction Mover. It was at http://www.sandylodge.demon.co.uk/html/utilities.html. I'm very impressed with the response after just a few hours! What a great community!

Thank you all for the info. As I said, I'm new to Poser, so some of these terms are unfamiliar: -fitted morphs vs. loose morphs? -MOR donor? Is there some benefit/downside to scaling the limbs in a 3D program vs. using Poser's dials?
