Subject: How do I export an .OBJ with a Poser morph intact? Only getting default...

I'm sure this screams "newbie," but I can't seem to export a .OBJ of a character's head with the morphs that I did to it in Poser intact. Poser always exports the face in it's default condition. Is this one of those CR2/Utility/Editing jobs? Thanks, OtakuShark

Here's what you do. Set your morphs as you like them. Then do this. File|Export|Wavefront Obj a dialog box will pop up just tell it single frame a second dialogue box will pop up of your hierarchy window click on the universe box and everything will be deselected. then look down through the list until you get to the head click in that box. commit your choice by hitting ok give your file a name and location for saving it when prompted. next a box will pop up click on all the boxes except the weld at seams box. make sure the last box at the bottom is selected it says export as Morph Target. that's it.

i miss another button there: one that says "with no spacial movement". because when you export .obj like this, you'll also get the spacial koords changed. when you reimport it again in poser, and then use the morph, that body part will also start to move in space, making the morph (mostly) unusable. haven't got around this one yet :-(

How about select Head, grouping tool, Add All, Create New Prop, export New Prop as Morph target (nothing else selected in the Export box).

Thanks, Jamball77--checking those other options in the export dialog did the trick. Funny, I couldn't find any useful info on those in the manual. Aleks- The Export as Morph Object checkbox should export the mesh without altering the coordinates. I've exported body parts lots of times into Max and messed with them, then reimported them as Morph targets without problems. If you're using Max, there's a good tutorial here:

Some of those options came in with the Poser upgrade 4.0.3, so they wouldn't be in the Metacreations manual, at least. I'm under the impression that if you pick the OBJ file option "export as morph target" it will not work if you pick more than one body part (or, rather group) in the selection menu, incidently.
