StaceyG:  That's actually odd about multiple account not able to be merged... because I've actually had this done before, some years ago.  Had my whole gallery switched to a different account that I had.

If this option is not possible, that's unfortunate.  I'm sure by now that many people created alternate accounts because they could not switch their usernames.  Now, seeing as there is a charge to SWITCH usernames, AND you cannot merge existing accounts, AND it's quite possible the new username you want IS one of your other accounts.... what's the point, really, for anyone to pay the $$ to switch the name?

Sure, you might have the odd member who has never switched his/her name or created an alternate account, but really, if renderosity wanted this to be profitable... you might want to include the merging option. (as I said, I KNOW it can be done, I had it done before)

You might have had a customer here, for example.  I will be the first to admit that over the years I've changed my name a few times, and I'd be willing to pay for this as a result of that fickleness (hehe).

Mind you, as someone said above (can't remember who)... this option is entirely FREE at Daz... you can switch it once, you can switch it back... and all of your purchases and other activities are logged right along with it....

Well the 3d side of things is where I'd prefer to have tutes. I feel fairly secure with the postwork/painting side of things. I'm sure I could learn MORE, but I feel I have a lot more to learn with 3d than I do with post... so I guess 3D World is the one.... LOL, pakled. I'm in Canada, so we don't have B&N here... Chapters is our store... maybe I should have a look and see if they have single copies there too. :) THanks all for your help! Leah, congratulations! :)

The free stuff doesn't bother me so much... and actually from the ads it would have appeared Computer Arts has more of it... but ok, so if I'm intending to publish my work in print? I mean, on this site a few people have been published in 3d World, right? But it's for the articles, too... I want to learn a lot of stuff...

Joe, I had had this problem with my Vue 4 Pro (don't have the others), and as it turned out the issue was my not having the most recent updates for the software. Once that was done, everything was fine. But seeing as the Pro Demo was the one that worked correctly for you, this probably doesn't help you much. :(

Seriously!!!.... Well I'll save it as a TIFF or something instead next time, and open it in Painter and see if that's different. THanks, Gill!!! It's nice to know because I was so freaked out.

LOL I just got off the phone with Corel customer service and told them they made a great move with this one. I asked "did you happen to get a lot of customer, um, SUGGESTIONS" hehe, and of course the petition worked because Bryce will continue in development... Who knows... Bryce 6 out soon? Now it's possible. I think this is just fantastic too. Thanks for beating me to the punch on this announcement, Flak... there will be a lot of happy happy people. :)

Randy, unless I'm told again that something in my contest is illegal, the rules will stand. If people choose not to participate because they don't like those rules, that will be disappointing in terms of overall turnout, but the people who do enter will have the odds increase that much more in their favour... so for everyone unhappy with things, there will be another happy person too. As I said, this point could be debated endlessly, so with all due respect, I won't debate the issue any further. Feel free to post more objections, should there be any, and this stands for anyone else reading the thread too, but I won't personally respond to it anymore, only because I feel I've said all I have to say... -- no disrespect intended with this comment, by the way. Thank U for being so open with your opinions. :O)!

randym, I understand what you're saying, and that you're not trying to change the contest rules. They will remain as is, though... and now since there is a link on the front page and a specific contest page for submissions, any entry not fitting within the rules won't be approved for display on the contest page anyhow. Going by your comment, if I did approve them and people who depicted homosexual romance didn't win, for example, then I would be accused of allowing them in but making sure they didn't win... this issue could be debated forever, really. As for there being no interracial couples either... I seem to recall seeing them depicted... though don't come out and ask me to provide a link to PROOF, lol.
