The lockups have nothing to do with the machine power. I am using a 1.7Ghz P4 with 256MB and a GeForce3. As soon as I use the UpDo hair with textures on V2 it hangs, same as described above. Unfortunately I have no solution to offer so far.

Hehe, yes, it's a pitty - most of the really cool stuff is only for Posette/Dork. What's the deal/relation between Zygote and Daz3D ? I was under the impression that Daz is more like a marketing spinoff so Zygote can focus on the creative part and custom work. Sidenote : There's some really great pictures by mstrlek in the Bryce Hot20 list, many of them with German names (Gebet, Vertrmt). Most of them show a female Paladin in an absolutely outstanding armour - does anybody know where that armour comes from ? Tried to get in touch with him but he didn't answer. Looking at the body parts I guess it could have a Vicki Catsuit base .. not sure though.
Thread: Question about cleaning up Poser 4 | Forum: Poser Technical
The idea isn't really to delete the geometries as you delete the character but you have a good point - this may well be teh reason why they leave them untouches when deleting a character. Another issues that may have to be considered : Is it possible to have an object mesh that is completely unused but that is absolutely needed for Poser to run ? I guess it is possible if you attempt a radical cleanup and leave nothing behind ... unlikely though. Well, I ran another test and wrote the code to collect all the object filenames as well as the portion to scan the *.cr2's (nothing else so far) for usage of the geometries. Since I have this other job (the one I go to every morning) too it may take a week or two until a working sample is available ... we'll see. I was also looking for the filebrowser bloodsong was mentioning but the closest thing I found was utilities extracting project files or placing them into the correct directories. A russian site had a utility that seemed to go in the right direction but Vicki alone too 45 minutes to scan shrugs.
Thread: Question about cleaning up Poser 4 | Forum: Poser Technical
Well, I had another look at the file structure. Looks like we'd need a little application that cross-references the *.obj's to the *.cr2's. Let me know if I'm missing something here but lets say an application would list all the geometry files and then scan the cr2's to see if they are a) ok, b) missing or c) orphans and color them accordingly, maybe even place a 'delete' button next to the orphans we could basically do automatic cleanup (well, this part at least - I like your idea of replacing texture Liz, would probably still keep a few high quality ones as tif though). Sure, other elements such as props would also have to be considered but it looks like pretty straight forward job (I'm not a full time coder but think I could get this one done). Any ideas ? That bothers me is the fact that no such utility is out there ... no need to re-invent the wheel :=). Pras
