Blooper, your image reminds me of a Wings problem I had once. I had created Groups and then assigned Materials to each group in Wings - when I brought it into Bryce, I had duplicate faces for some of the Groups. When I rendered it (prior to identifying the problem) it looked like the pig - faces looked like they were half-uvmapped. Also, whenever I bring a OBJ in from Wings the first thing I do is run down the Tools menu and fix potntial problems: 1. Tools - Vertices - Weld 2. Tools - Normals - Fix Seams I also check Facets, etc. By the way, I finally decided to only assign Materials in Wings then use the Select By Materials in UVMapper Pro to assign the various mapping. I no longer bother with Wings mapping beyond assigning Materials to facets.

Check out Kevin Cappis's site at: http://www.surrealplaces.com/cities/cities2.htmlHe was one of the first truly amazing Bryce artists specializing in modern cityscapes. He originally worked in Bryce 4 (I believe) and later went to Max. Some parts of his site now have bad links - like the one to his Bryce tutorial - but the images are still inspiring.

I'm in Pensacola so we are pretty much in the path. It looks like it will hit somewhere between Pacagoula to Mobile putting us in the NorthEast quadrant - not where you really want to be. I'm about two miles inland from the bay so we've decided to stick this one out.

I really see this as great news. Hopefully, the folks at DAZ will get to work on importing Poser files without jumping through all the hoops. CastIron Flamingo's Grouper has been a real blessing but I still avoid importing Poser figures in if at all possible.

The reverse is more common. People use Cinema 4D to create models that are then imported into Bryce and rendered.

Either a CD or a downloadable PDF is probably going to be the best alternative. Cafepress (and all like print-on-demand printer's I know of) states, "Book contents are printed in black and white". There is one (whose name escapes me) which will do color pages but the price is alot higher and generally cost prohibitive.

By the way, I didn't start this thread and I'm not upset with Daz3d. My original response was, like NVITWS, I have no interest in V3 products and by and large the Platinum Club additions have not met my needs. The initial group of files listed had enough to make it worth my while for subscribing - consequently I do not feel as though I've been taken advantage of, nor have I tried to convey that. (I believe that some of the initial products I liked so much, such as "The Rulers of Egypt", were even created by the inscrutible PheonixRising/Anton) :) I like Daz3d. I enjoy their/your products and I wish the company well. But as I noted before, the recent additions haven't met my needs and so unless something changes I see no reason to resubscribe at a cost of $100. If I am in the minority this should be of no consequence to Daz. After all, you can't please everyone. On the otherhand, if I'm not in the minority, there is a chance that others will not renew either. Despite the vocal and very happy V3 owners I would bet a considerable sum there are many more potential customers with Vicky 2 than with Vicky 3. Besides the Platinum Club, I also subscribe to Poserworld and Poserstyle. A similar discussion was held at Poserworld (though I was not involved) and Steve has since been more balanced at providing V2 products (and there was much rejoicing). As a comparison, the type of products Poserworld and Poserstyle create more closely meet my needs and interests than what Daz has been doing. As for what my interests are: I am most interested in realistic and historical garb, props and scenes. I've recently purchased things such as: The Lourdes/Malis Viking Pack Guilland's Fashions of the Old West and Johnson's 15th Century Armor I am very happy with all those but I paid the same price for those items (and others) than I would have without a Platinum Club membership.

Ryan, yes, the "on sale for a limited time" made me think it was an initial offering sale. After you changed that I couldn't find any Daz Original creations on sale to test. I did sign in before trying it - that was how I got the: "Platinum Club Discount: 30% Off DAZ Created Products $-14.99 " line.

Ryan. That isn't the way it is working now. If I go for example and select the Sea Dragon (which is a Daz Creation) it is listed as $49.95 - on sale for $34.95 for a limited time. When I go to check out I get the following: ps_an057 Sea Dragon OS: Windows $49.95 $49.95 [ Remove ] Platinum Club Discount: 30% Off DAZ Created Products $-14.99 Total: $34.96 You will note the 30% comes of the top NOT off the intro sale. If you intended it to work otherwise I suggest you relook at the code.

Laurie, my only comment was that they weren't meeting my needs. I have contacted them. The intial offerings were fine - I'm not saying it was a rip off. But as was originally noted almost all of the recent Premium additions have been V3 and that doesn't meet my needs. As for "Can't fault them for wanting to push their latest and greatest." - I can and do if they want to charge me $100 for their promotion." As it is there are 3 reasons to consider joining the Premium Club. 1. You get to buy what is already there - including the initial stock 2. You get the $1.99 items that are added to the Premium Club 3. You get 30% off Daz Original Productions Once you've joined once number 1 no longer applies so no need to renew. Number 3 isn't that exciting since you can accomplish the same thing for free by buying the item when it is first offered. So if the $1.99 items aren't of interest to a customer Daz isn't likely to get that customer to renew. I see no reason for me to.
