Quote - Yes; export works just fine, which is why I was wondering if somehow, someone, got it to work going the other way 'round.
Thanks. Smith Micro announced a sale today on upgrades so I just bought one.
Thread: Collada import in PP2014 question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - This is a list of what features of Collada are currently supported in Poser:
 http://poser.smithmicro.com/collada.html
 Hope that clears things up.
I see on the list that Poser Pro 2014 exports rigging but 2010 does not.
I have Poser Pro 2010 and would love to use COLLADA to export Poser models and rigging to 3DS Max. I would upgrade to 2014 in a heartbeat of it really works.
Does anyone know if it does really work?
Thread: Poser Pro 2010 SR1 can't find Poser Pro 2010 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
"But when I try to install the SR1 I get a message saying that Poser Pro 2010 is not installed on the system."
I have PP10, and I have the SR1 for PP10, and I am really getting the error 'Poser Pro 2010 is not installed on the system'. And 'Not a Poser 2010 folder.'
IÂ have even tried re-installing PP10 in an alternative folder, but IÂ still get the same error message when IÂ try to install SR1.
When IÂ saw this thread, IÂ thought my problem would be solved.
Cannot find the answer on the Smith Micro Knowledge Base. Can anyone help?
Thread: PoserPro2010 Assessment and glitch? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Qualien - hate to say it, because it's used so much, but it could be a video card problem. I have some issues with PP2010 and Carrara 8 beta crashing, but don't have problems with other software (Carrara 7, Poser 7, DS3A). I know it's a video card problem because sometimes Vista actually catches/identifies it and tells me. Unfortunately it's on a laptop that I can't upgrade drivers on - so I just save my work early and often!
Â
Installing latest video card driver seems to have worked! Haven't been reading the Poser forum much for a few years, or else I guess I would have seen this. I'll have to come here more often. Thanks for the help!

DustRider,
Thanks for the idea, I'll try downloading any recent drivers for my video card if there are any. The card is pretty new though, and it has been working with all the graphics software IÂ have. Hope it works, because the crashes are too frequent for the program to be useful, even if IÂ do get in the habit of saving my work every 5 minutes. Wish me luck!

I sidegraded from P7 to Pro10, and I also have random crashes, LOTS of them. Both in 64 bit and X86.
Before I uninstall it, go back to P7, and wait for SR1, I was just wondering if there is something I might have done wrong in the installation or something. Because the program as it is working on my PCÂ
-Microsoft Windows Vista - Home Premium Edition (x64)
-Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6700 @ 2.66GHz
-4 gigs RAM
would not be usable to anyone.Â
Any answers?
Thread: RIP Poser 7 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
"Out of curiosity, whose advice did you take?"
I found the folder with the Poser preference files and I deleted the files for monitor preferences, presuming those were the culprits since I had just installed a new monitor and driver. So I expect that the Tablet Mode preference was probably deleted too. I probably should defrag my HD too, but deleting the preference files seems to have done the trick.
Thread: RIP Poser 7 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
My Story:
I had not visited the Poser forum for months, and today I happened to look in and for some reason read this thread. Then about an hour later my Poser 7 started crashing, not just crashing itself but locking up my whole system requiring a cold reboot.
So I came back here and took the advice above. It worked (I had installed a new monitor recently and apparently the display resolution preferences must have messed up). I had forgotten how helpful you people can be! Thanks to all of the above.
Thread: Looking for upgrade advice regarding CS3 | Forum: Photoshop
I just upgraded from PS7 to CS3 a couple of days ago. Can't give an overall reaction yet, but I will say that the upgrade process was simple and easy (I got the DVD version from Amazon, so I can't say about the electronic dl version).Â
CS3 starts up fast and doesn't seem to run a bit slower or hog more resources (the fear of that was a big reason for me not upgrading to CS2). Outside of having to reset all my preferences, the transition has been seamless so far.
Thread: What did I miss? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
This thread has gone a long way toward telling me what I have missed since I used to visit this forum daily.
(And I now know what all those parking spaces nearest the store doors are really for -- I have never seen an actual handicapped person getting out of a vehicle parked there -- and that Christians hate Mel Gibson too.)
Thread: What did I miss? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
This thread is a good idea. I don't have time to visit the Poser forum very often anymore.
Someone should take it on him/her self to post a What Has Happened in the Last Two Weeks Digest post.
Include Updates on the Great Debates as noted above BIg Boobs, Is Poser Art? and BTW  did you guys ever finally decide whether or not postwork is evil? Chuck Norris facts would be optional. Criticisms of Mel Gibson by The Politically Correct should be banned, they make me want to barf.
Thread: Help with new messaging system | Forum: Community Center
"Is it true that if one uses site mail to send inflamnatory messages one can be charged with in-siting a riot?"
Is it true that you're too 'inflamnatory' you're in an inflamnation?
Â
(My little way of bookmarking this, as I am also having trouble with messaging. Page shows that I have no messages but I know I do and I can't find it/them.)

"It is by Caffiene alone I set my mind in Motion..."
Maybe you should try the decaf. ;-)

Duh! I would have searched til doomsday and not seen that up at the top of the page. Guess I'm just a creature of habit. Thanks!
Thread: Poesr posts getting old here... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I used to seem more of a diversity of images Poser images in the Gallery. Now, 'pin-ups' dominate, to say the least. And in the Marketplace, where people vote with their money, it is obvious that pin-ups are what most people are using Poser for.
Is this good or bad?
Poser has the potential to be used for lots of different kinds of images. If people want it to be used for something other than pin-ups, it is up to those people to render those other kinds of image, and make and buy products for those other kinds of images.
So whether I or anyone else thinks the outcome is good or bad does not matter. Poser is a self-organizing system, at least until the government steps in to regulate it someday.
