LOL
Theres a couple of images in my gallery that relate to this subject. Its a joke amongst 3d'ers especially brycers that when most of us first got bryce, we were amazed by the shiny sphere floating above water. Although it is a joke, some awesome effects can be acheived using the method.

Thread: Where are all the Bryce artists? | Forum: Bryce
Name: Questor4
Age: 30 someting :)
Area: UK
How long have you used Bryce?: since approx 04
What kind of art do you create usually?: Buildings, structures & landscape type scenes.
Would you ever move over to Vue?: I have used it before, but didnt like it.
What is your most favourite Bryce art that you have done and why? I am too much of a perfectionist, so Im never 100% happy with any image i make, I know i can do better but sometimes lose patience !! ,....Tricky,, I guess "alien world" is my fave, It's one of the 1st bryce pictures I made. I originally made it as a wallpaper and used it for ages on my desktop.

Thread: depth of field | Forum: Bryce
What I did is create a very basic scene 320x240 with a flat grey sky & delete the ground plane.
Then add about 20 cubes with default mats and just randomly placing all of them into the distance. (only about as far as the end of the ground plane would be).
Then make 1 cube in the foreground (make it a different colour if you want) and whilst its selected, click the "set to current selection" button.
you could put a few cubes in the foreground too, but i havent really tried that yet.
This way, the render times arent too painful and you can see reasonably fast results whilst experimenting. hope this helps.

I wouldnt hire anyone. Im sure we could help you fix it.
Have you tried using the System Restore feature in windows ? You might be able to go back to a point before you uninstalled v6. Also, I recommend making a backup of the registry before you alter anything in it.
I hope this helps !
Thread: Ivy Generator | Forum: Bryce
Thanks AgentSmith, I have already seen that app, I coulnt figure it out..confused:
as for the Ivy Generator, i havnet had time to play with it much yet, but Its really impressive !
I doubt he realises it yet, but Thomas Luft (the creator) could make some money out of this, it is quite remarkable app, and could be improved furher or incorporated into a big app like bryce, Vue etc. I would imagine they'd be VERY interested, as the response from just the renderosity community is already good !

It is a great collection, not all of the cars load directly into bryce but about 60-70% work fine.
I still havent decided what im gonna do with the cars yet, but I will eventually make a bryce scene using one/some of them.
Thread: HELP ME - I'M STUPID AGAIN!!! AAARRRGGGHHH! | Forum: Bryce
i dont think bryce can do this.
The only way you can mould a texture into a 3d object is with the a greyscale image in the terrain editor.
create a new terrain , rotate it upright for the front of the building and apply the bump / greyscale in terrain editor.
Then apply the original colour image with the material editor. I dont think it will work out how you would expect though.
