Thanks, will try that.  The tut "Noob to Pro"  makes a goblet with cubes and it works well, but I wanted to do it with a circle and a cylinder as well.
With Wings, no problem, the top of the cylinder is solid face and one uses the "intrude"
facilty. But I want to get to know Blender as well.

Thank you, Robyn.  Actually, I know that. But the imported obj does not respond to tab. I will export from Poser to a temp file and import from there.
BTW, how does one make a cylinder hollow? Or give an extruded circle a thick edge?

Thank you, I tried it and it works.
You see, I need to import a pair of pants and change it to a dresslike garment such as people used in biblical times.
However, the imported obj won't change to edit mode so that I can work on it.
I realize it's a stupid question, but - once again, how???

Further on the topic of interaction between Poser and Blender -
I still don't understand it. I want to export a pair of pants (it already fits the model) from Poser to Blender, work on it and export back to Poser.
BUT it seems Blender won't import obj files from Poser. tho Wings does.
So: How on earth does one get a Poser obj file into Blender and back again??
I am aware of the size differences.

Thank you, CaptainJack. I have downloaded it and started working with it already. I hope that, as I proceed, that I will learn how to make clothing for exixting models such as Vic and Michael. So far, I am sure that I will be able to make props that I need. Glad to know there's a forum as well.

*Check wings3d forum. Wings is far from perfect but is most user friendly. Moreover tutorials are easy to find via google.
The website doesn't say much. Is it a program that can be downloaded? I would very much like to investigate this further.

I had a look at the link, but that's not quite what I need. Far, far too realistic. I need figures with head to body ratio of 5 to 1, not 7 to 1. The Archie comics type figures are what I need. Pretty faces and bodies! Thanks for your reply anyway, much appreciated. Johan

Thanks again, marvellous advice. Buying might be slightly difficult, since I don't live in USA but in Africa. I think it's time to buy the Vic/Mike CD's. I'll see if I can order direct from USA. Does anybody know - will poser 5 enable one to make your characters older? Take care, SDG

Thanks for your info, it's much appreciated. Since I am over 60 myself, let's then call them wise and well rounded - sounds nice. SDG
