Thread: Can't upload to Gallery | Forum: Community Center
Y'know, as a customer of many vendors it occurs to me that if I can not credit them then I serve no purpose to/for them. I do not create my own items, not because I do not want to, but because I know someone, somewhere will do it better than I ever could. I look at an upload to the gallery and if it's something I find amazing, I look and see in their credits what the item is and I either wishlist it or buy it outright. If folks can't credit, I have no basis to buy. If nobody buys. nothing gets sold, if nothing gets sold vendors leave or quit creating, That is terrible to me and this site as a whole because if no-one is buying you are not making money. Please work to fix the "upload crashes when I credit, therefore I am not going to credit" mess as if customers can't find an item in the credits, we probably aren't going to search to find it, therefore we, "probably won't buy it either" scenario. In other words, if someone can credit an item, I can look it up and purchase it if I need/want to.
Thread: can I stop the display of images from a particular artist in the gallery? | Forum: Community Center
Don't get me wrong, I lurk in the galleries a lot! I love seeing what everyone posts. The images make me smile, laugh and/or think. I just don't see unlimited uploads being anywhere near uplifting or fun, except for the person making those images. It doesn't mean I don't like them, because I really, really do. (within reason!) Perhaps my attention-span is not conducive to that many uploads per day and it's all on me. :)
Thread: What are posting limits?? | Forum: Community Center
So we really can be subjected to 32 images from one individual a day? I would pay for prime to be able to NOT be subjected to 32 images per day. I understand pride in your work and a desire to see what others think of your labors, but 32? A day? That is over the top in my little bitty corner of the multiverse.

I don't ever post here, but I agree with everyone else. Either give us an ignore button or limit daily postings to, say, maybe five or so per day. I understand being a prime member and being proud of your work, but this individual is just bombing the gallery and after five or six pics in a row I vomit just a bit trying to scroll through the ad-nauseum posts. i really thought the "new" would wear off for this person, but it looks like that is not in the cards.
Thread: Galleries: A Mini-Rant coupled with a fun idea | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You would be amazed just how good your "crappy old chair" and older characters can look if you pull them up in your new software and use displacement and AO, etc. Even just turning on IBL can have an amazing effect on something that you feel is just "so-so" and turn it into something head-turning.
Your idea IS a good one, don't crap out on it!

William_the_Bloody, I agree with everyone else, your gallery is wonderful and you are your own worse critic! That or MY moniter is as "screwed up" as yours-LOL!
You must have been reading my mind though as I have dug up and dusted off some "old" characters (V1-V2) and have been working with them. I am almost done with one render although I'm not going to post it here in this thread as it is a dedication to someone here and I'd hate to spoil it.
I CAN tell you you may be fantastically impressed when you play with your old characters or even pz3's- heck I almost fell out of my chair when I rendered this last character as I hadn't used her since about 2003! I loved tthe texture I had chosen for her, but it never seemed quite "right" to me. Suffice it to say it does now --hense the dedication.
If you get some support for dusting off older stuff and posting it I'm up for it. Heck, perhaps after I'm done with this render I'll do it anyways, just for fun.
Thanks for this thread.

Dolphins!!! Squeee! Those are lovely, as are all your creations and I use them often. Thank you so much! I'd give you a smootch but I just ate a brownie and wouldn't want to get you into anytrouble leaving chocolate smears on your collar! ;-)
Thread: The Big Freebie Debate | Forum: Freestuff
I've had people bid on a couple of pieces of mine and I try to keep meticulous track of what I use in each scene (It's a PITA, but it saves me from trouble later.)
99.9% of the time, if I contact a creator and ask nicely not only do they give permission, 9 times out of 10 they don't want anything from me. (I put back funds for them regardless and it is always apreciated--hey, who doesn't like "found money"!)
So, to me, I don't worry about restrictions for use as most of the time I don't render anything for sale and if someone expresses an interest, I can always contact the content creator and ask.
Perhaps that is the key thing, ask.
I always give thanks to the freebie creators. I remember when I started with poser, I didn't buy hardly anything, freebies were my friends! Now I have accumulated a fairly large "purchased" load of goods, but there are still those favorite freebies that just "make" a render work.
Freebie content creators fill a much needed area, and they are my heros if for no other reason than I can't model my way out of a wet paper sack! ;-)

Are they all three days? I thought it was just me as I'm not real religious about checking my e-mail. You are correct in saying that really isn't much time at all. If I have to apply a payment to my card to make a purchase it takes about three days for the credit to be available. I would have to be incredibly lucky to ever get to use one. Something to think about.
Thread: WAAAAAAAA!!No Coupon | Forum: Community Center
I've been dying to use my discount also! I was pleasantly surprized to see one in my e-mail box the other day(thank you so much!) Alas! I squeeked in just past the due date! Although I was unable to utilize mine, I am extremely happy to have been thought of in that manner. Perhaps there can be some discussion about extending the due dates to cover, say, a week/week and a half. Then, since all folks get paid on different days, no one person would miss out due to not having their bank accounts padded? I understand all to well, and I am sure others here are in the same boat you are rowing. I don't think the discount coupons are a "dirty joke" I just believe you and I (and prehaps a few others) are victims of bad timing.
