I believe PoserFusion was built to work with Max 9 (and it does from my experiments) but doesn't appear to be compatible with Max 2010 (I get the message "DLL PzrFor3ds.dlo failed to initialize. Error code 127 - The specified procedure could not be found" when Max is initializing). Checking the Poser docs it makes no mention of Max 2010 but specifically mentions Max 9...
Thread: Rendering Animations | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm running Win XP Pro x64 (quad) and Poser Pro. I have found the best results rendering a series (or multiple series -- to reduce task sizes) of images to be the most effective. Using Pro, I send the animation to the render queue, usually in blocks of around 10 seconds (300 frames or so). I can then assemble the frames as video clips in a video editing application. (I render to uncompressed bitmaps.)
Thread: Poser 8 SP1 Feature Request | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Please forgive me if this has already been mentioned (I read through the thread and didn't see it).
I would dearly like to see the frame count displayed for animated pose files (as was the case in prior versions). As it stands, P8 gives the user no clue whether a pose file is a single frame or an animated sequence... or, at least, IÂ haven't found the clue, yet...
Frankly, the library display may be faster but IÂ find it FARÂ less functional if IÂ can't easily browse or see what items are (and IÂ find the thumbs too small). It's annoying as hell to have to click on each to see detail -- and quite useless if the detail isn't there to begin with (i.e., frame count).
There's a lot of good in P8... but IÂ find myself working in Poser Pro or P7, mainly because of the library interface.

Quote - I'm not sure that its a question of posting every day or even every week, more that people participate in some way, as you surely do.
There are lots of possibilities if more people used the forums for varied reasons. More support for new users, more information for vendors/potential vendors, new ideas and innovations going out to a wider community. The possibilities are quite large.

Agreed. I've learned much from lurking though and, while still considering myself a bit of a noob, there's likely a contribution I could make in helping others who are a little further back on the learning curve. Unfortunately I always seem to see a question/thread AFTER someone else has provided a solution... and, often, a better solution than I would have presented... More frequent visits might result in more timely contributions, be they of any value.

From a personal perspective, I find it comes down to a matter of time... I'm a moderator for a non-art (music) forum and, given the amount of time I can budget for forum participation, that chews up the majority. (No one should underestimate the amount of time and effort required of moderators -- particularly when dealing with forums that generate "passionate" discussion... lol).
As well, most of the time I've been able to budget for art-related work lately has been consumed in the development of items I would like to offer in a/the marketplace in the near future. This has seriously constrained my contributions both within the forums and the gallery (something I'd like to remedy but my priority is getting the projects to completion). That said, I do try to skim through the forums on a fairly regular basis but it's more as a "drive-by" visit and the occasional impulse buy in the marketplace. :o)
I will make more of a conscious effort to post (and probably should update/clean up a very out-dated gallery) in the future. I am certain there are folks here with far more knowledge and experience than I, but I would like to give back a bit, having learned an awful lot from my time in here.
Thread: Python in Poser 7 Pro | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Poser Pro has the Python24.dll (same as Poser 7) and it was working here when I tried a couple of quick tests. (Win XP Pro x64 / Q6800)
Thread: Need updated answers on going XP or Vista...32 bit or 64 bit, Please | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - When I got my new computer I went with XP Pro 64 bit. I really like it. Poser 7 flys, and I expect the new Poser Pro will do even better.
The only "complaint" I have with it is that there is still alot of programs that aren't compatable ( for example Adobe Flash isn't 64 bit compatible). So I am just having to be patient until the rest of the world catches up.
That's where I'm at, too. I'm very happy with XP Pro x64, despite the odd (not very many, thankfully) issue with specific software. Poser runs very well, as do almost all the graphic applications I use. (Flash being the exception.) A few audio plug-ins (32-bit DXi are not supported so I have been forced to go completely VSTi) have also posed some adjustments. Overall, though, no regrets at sticking with XP Pro and going with the 64-bit flavour.
Thread: Dphoadley needs BetaTestors for VVic4V3 UVS: Nudity | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - *"Almost all of the texture's I seen made for V4 the aerola's were too big... "*100% agreed. They are all either too big or burgandy or deep brown. V4 texture offerings are like a ghastly nipple convention. Oddly enough seein how I'm female makes me always notice a decent set of nipples on something.
Just to add to this, that is the one and only reason why I wont purchase textures that don't show everything, I'm certain I've got a 99% chance of opening it up to find saucer nipples.
Â
In my 2D work, I've dealt with a number of models and (while not a very broad sampling, I admit) I've found that V4's aureola size isn't completely out of line and is, probably, a little more flexible than V3's (as it's not as difficult to shrink V4's as it is to expand V3's, IMO).Â
The models I've dealt with have varied greatly in shape and size of aureola and, when I'm working in 3D, I like to mirror that. One of the reasons I prefer V4 over the G2 line is the difficulty in creating realistic variations, as I find they are less flexible in that particular part of the anatomy.
A big problem does seem to be in the texturing and I fully agree with you that I wouldn't purchase a texture without knowing in advance what lies beneath. The colouration is often a problem, too. I've yet to meet a real world model with burgundy nipples! I guess that's something I will continue to look forward to? lol.
Apologies for going OT... :)

Hi David,
I'm just catching up and very sorry I wasn't around or had the time to assist with beta on this but I wanted to chip in my two cents worth of encouragement. What I've seen, so far, looks great -- very, very good job! You have a sale, here, when you decide to release! ;)

Yes, I had similar problems... and would still love to find a lab coat that would work for V3, M3, V4 or such (OR could be converted successfully using WW or by going dynamic). Still looking...
Thread: How to add morphs to clothing? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - This kind of skirt screams for dynamic cloth. Which is also probably the easiest way to make morphs - you can spawn a morph target from the simulation result.
Â
I would agree... that would be my choice.
Thread: Ot : Pet owners in the US and Canada please read: food recall. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Both of our dogs are on a natural/raw diet, thankfully, so none of this has had an effect on them. I truly feel for those who've lost their companions (or had close calls) due to this issue.
I highly recommend natural/raw diets for both dogs and cats... It's worth looking into, for those who haven't considered the approach. While it takes a little more effort (primarily to educate one's self on the topic), I have found it has made a world of difference in their overall health, vitality and well-being. (And we know what they're eating -- there are no worries about mystery ingredients or tainted content!)
Thread: Silly Question: Rendering Figure as a WireFrame Model in Poser 6 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - - Set the display setting to Wireframe.
- Now go to AnimationMake Movie.
- In Format select Image Files.
- In Render select Preview
- In Options select Anti Alias.
- In Resolution set the size of your image.
- In Time Span set Start and End Frame to 1
- Click the Make Movie button.
You effectivly make a movie of a single frame with the render settings set as the Preview Window.
Hope this helps.
Â
I'm not 100% certain (can't check right now) but could you not also do this using "Preview" in normal (single-frame) render settings?
