Ermm.... I am just getting no joy. I am back to trying it as mat file again. I save the materials , that all looks good it asks which surfaces to set (check the correct boxes), save it in poses (.DSF) change the extention to (.pz2). It shows up in the library. I load the original Poser version, Select it, find the .pz2, click it, It applies it (well something flashes up, its too quick to read) but nothing changes. Any other ideas?

My fix for poke through is hide the part underneath if possible or creat a transparency map if you know how.

Quote - Put the Studio mat file in with the Poser pz2 mat and give it the same name as the pz2. Studio will execute the DS file instead of the pz2. You know you did it right if the file icon changes by having a little scroll added to the upper left corner.
Is this the same for props? This is what I did
Load the poser prop, adjusted textures, "File>Save as>Support Asset>DSF Figure or prop file" gave it the same name as the original. But it doesn't show up.
I checked it, Its in the folder, opened it with wordpad and it looks to be correct as far as I can tell (found references to the geometry, the jpgs etc)
So what am I doing wrong?

Actually more accurately I know how to save them just not where too and how to use them after. For example I saved a materials file but It doesn't show up in the libraries?

I have a few questions. I have been creating content for some time now. Mostly for poser I have tried to keep my stuff DS freindly but I am missing a trick or 2 and want to create stuff that renders well in both (with out all the texture faffing) by starting to do 2 versions of models/ props. But being as thick as a brick and not having much time to find the tutorials I thought you guys would know.
I'm fine at adjusting the textures in DS3/4, Up until now I have just saved a DS scene file with the adjusted mats and added that to the product but its not a great way. What I would like to do is save the Character, Prop or Material/material set but can't seem to workout how to save them. Yeah Yeah I know dumb f...
Also another thought can a poser scene be loaded into DS?
Anyhelp would be great, ABC steps even better.
Thread: Why don't (more) artists want to collaborate with writers? | Forum: Writers
Why thanks Cliff, I feel a whole lot better now. Can I also count the time I accidently stood on my Chaz and Dave album and snapped it as an achievement ;)

I think its probably a time vs money thing. I can only really talk for myself but I imagine most artists do it all for fun and to relax and inspiration comes from out of the blue. To suddenly be expected to just produce pictures is pretty hard (even if I were being paid). Its a huge commitment if its more than a few images. I still need to work so to spend time illustrating a book that I will very likely not make me a penny doesn't make any sense as I would be better drawing something that I want to with no pressure.
That said I illustrated a book not long ago as a collab as the story was just up my street and it got to No 1. bestseller on the kindle (its now about 76, its here if your interested :- http://www.amazon.co.uk/Crackly-Bones-ebook/dp/B004VWXR6W/ref=zg_bs_362230031_73) even then its made next to nothing in any financial way, which is not a problem as I did it for fun.
I always wanted the opposite for someone to write a poem or short to go with one of my images. I am illustrating a couple of others at the moment for the same guy. But it is a unique situation. I went to him with a couple of ideas for short stories that I would have liked to have written if I had the skills ( I could see the pictures in my head) and he loved the ideas and other a few beers we fleshed out the plot and bingo he is writing what I could only visualise.
I think the upshot is if an artist reads something and it rings their bell so to speak they will fall over themselves to be the one to illustrate it, if it doesn't then even with good payment they more than likely won't want to know.
I could of course be completly wrong, I was once before LOL
Thread: How we are all treated here at Renderosity as Client, Sponsor, and Vendor | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have had my share of refusals but after the initial throwing the mouse at the wall and the keyboard at the dog. I decide which way to go with it there are a few choices.
First I consider why it was rejected. Are they valid reasons? a lot of the time they are in which case it might be worth spending some more time on it and trying again.
If I feel that I have spent too much time on it already I will probably try some where else. Its worth pointing out that although the broker may be a business most Vendors are a business in their own right as well. Maybe just a hobby/business but a business non the less, in this case I try else where especially If I don't see any advantage to selling an item at a particular store. Some have high intitial sales and low residuals, I find Rendo has steady residual sales which in many respects is more important than a lot of sales for a month and then the odd few.
Lastly if I realise I really have made a mess of it then I will shelve the item and call it tuition fees.
In any event I always try and take away something positive if not for that item for future items and hopefully improve my skills. It would not do if the brokers just took everything because the buyer would soon become frustrated with low quality products. There was a time when some products were so bad It was almost entertaining. Thankfully that is rarely the case now.
My suggestion to the new vendor is first and formost enjoy what you do. You are very unlikely to make a living out of it, very few do. Secondly be realistic as much as it hurts we don't always get it right. Thirdly use the rejection positively if not for that item for you future products. And lastly remember keyboards and mice are cheap monitors and vet bills are not ;)

Thanks for the encouragement. Its my first attempt a a soft body character so its been a nightmare I have a few seams on the texture to tweak and then its off to the seam police at DAZ to see if it makes QA.
