With some more information, we might still be able to lend some advice on using that mesh...

VWD3D (dan) It's just the name of the item, it's not actually a jumper .. it's the 'over-dress' I was using.

Please, can you tell what is the dress you tried to simulate? Did you use the assistants?

It was the Denim Jumper from https://www.daz3d.com/denim-jumper-outfit-for-genesis-8-female-s it does look to be quite high poly count. I did use the assistant, setting it to be 'Stiff', and also using the 'reduce springs' option. Having managed to start a simulation with only the dress selected it got a bit further I think, with just over 100K of 170K vertices processed, using 920MB RAM usage confirmed in Task Manager).

I know it will say it in the manual but, if you do not pick a collision item before doing anything else there is no way of going back to do so once a cloth or hair item is selected.

Forgot to mention, using latest non-beta version of DS - 4.12.0.86 under Win 7 Pro

Got the upgrade, and managed to install it. I have a few questions, some may be a bit 'silly' due to lack of practice (and reading of manuals) with the product (both 1.* and now 2.*).: The plug-in itself (the .dll) is 64-bit, but the external program itself is 32-bit only - is that correct? Simple, static simulations seem to go ok, but I get a general 'lack of memory' error on any dynamic (animated) simulation I try (this is with a G8F and one dress, over the default 30 frames) - it gets up to about 800MB (reported in bottom right of screen) then has the memory issue. I have 64GB RAM and gfx card has 12GB, neither of which are remotely maxed-out at the time.

Not just me, then? Been wondering how and why, but a few days ago (28th June) I got a Rendo newsletter to an email account different to the account that all other such newsletters has been sent to (and in fact my usual; Rendo email got 2 copies of the newsletter), and also an account I do not recall providing, though presumably at some long distant time in the past I may have.

It has now worked, but of course none of the items were valid for the discount ... ho hum! ;)

Got both payment and order confirmation within seconds, so for me, at least, any problems are for another day ... ;)

And just to rub it in, that item is now part of the 200 Top Wishlisted sale and it IS showing a discount! I don't suppose a credit of the difference would be possible?

The item is back in the current Summer Splash sale and does not show as having a discount associated with it (like may others).
