Thread: To Solo22: Would you mind giving me some help with wet skin / clothes? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Attached Link: http://poser22.tripod.com
Hi... Sorry for the late reply...I don't hang around in the forums much anymore..hehe :) I'll try to help. - For the clothes I usually make them transparent a little. If there's to much transparency...it ruins the effect most of the time. I also make the clothes darker than usual. The same cloth will be much darker when wet. (I usually created different layers for just the clothing in Photoshop so I can control everything independently). I also add shadows with the burn tool and paint brush in photoshop. - For the skin you can make the skin a bit shiny. If you want to get a kind of "water beed" effect...I have a small tutorial on my Website explaining how I do it sometimes. - For the hair its mostly all painted in from Photoshop. for my latest image it was mostly created by painting in basic black strans with a paint brush...then pulling them outwards to a point with the smudge tool to create the hair strands. Thats a quick overview of how I got it...If you have any other questions feel free to Email me. ahh ok... I see the problem :( how about putting both counters...and we will see the difference in counts rather quickly..hehehe - just kidding:) BTW... how far back does the new database table go? Well if a solution ever presents itself it would be cool. For now...the counts in the Top50 give a good Idea for actual hits though :) Keep up the great work. Solo22
Thread: Emails on all new posts? | Forum: Community Center
Personnaly I would like to receive as many email notifications as possible. Because I tend not to go back to forum posts (or gallery images) on my own free will just to check if anyone replied. So I don't mind getting more email from posts/replies. It just makes it a whole lot easier to know when someone has posted something. My .02cents <----still canadian cents hehehe Solo22 http://poser22.tripod.com solo22@citenet.net
Thread: I think we need another function in the gallery now! :) | Forum: Community Center
Yes!!...its great rcook...Thanks This way I know what I'm getting into before I click a thumbnail. If I had a High-Speed Connection...I wouldn't mind clicking everything...but with a 56k...it helps alot to know what type of image I'm going to be looking at :) Thanks again rcook!! :) Solo22 http://poser22.tripod.com solo22@citenet.net

Hi ARADTech, I agree with you. And I do browse the "all" section sometimes to see all sorts of stuff. But sometimes I like to pin point whats new in the "3D art". without having to browse through the whole thing. I really like all the other 2D stuff...and the new photography section. But I just thought it would be cool to have a section to gather up all the 3D stuff. I just find myself a little mislead sometimes by thinking theres a really cool bryce image...and it turns out to be a photograph. another solution would be to have the "image type" writen under the thumbnail. But there is already quite a bit of stuff under the thumbnail as it is....thats why I suggest to have a "3D art" section button along with the current "poser, bryce, vue...." buttons btw...you could still look at all the art mixed up together by clicking the "ALL" section...so it wouldn't really change anything for the person wanting to see everything. :) just my 3cents...wich also happens to be canadian..hahha :) Solo22 http://poser22.tripod.com solo22@citenet.net

Thread: Ratings system update needed? | Forum: Community Center
hummm... just realized something... The number rating is now anonymous...but we are still stuck to leave our name behind because most people have both the rating and the comments activated. So if a person has lets say...2 comments and a rating of 10...and I had my rating of 7 for example...its still pretty easy to pin-point who dropped the average rating. (I know its sounds paranoid...but I'm sure some people would do an all out search to find out who dropped the rating..hehe)

wow...lot of typos in my last post....please no one RATE my post....hehehehehehehe :) :) :)

Ohh...one thing I thought of...(a bit off the subject) it would be cool to have the size of the image (in pixels) under the thumbnails. for example I love images that are 1024x768 and larger. Having the size of the image next to the thumbnail would be a great way of zero'ing in on those images. (probably more complicated than it seems to implement though) As for the Rating system...I'll fold...let's go anonymous :) Its true that the ratings being anonymous would produce more ratings. But I never really gave much importance to the ratings in the first place. Because alot of the people here, like myself, are fairly new to the whole "3D image" world. So alot of the votes in the first place are going to be off track of what the image really deserves simply because we (including myself) don't have the experience to judge the image for what its worth from a "3D Art" point of view. Personally...I think the best thing would be to only have comments anyways. Without the number rating in the first place. But perhaps instead having a counter under the thumbnail to show how many comments the pic has received. Cause personally, I love to just browse through the pics sometimes just to see peoples comments on different styles of images. Anyways... yes ok...if we keep the number ratings...let try them anonymouly. Solo22 solo22@citenet.net
