I had this exact issue and updating the video drivers was suggested by ef support and did the trick.

replying to add that I have this exact problem as well.   I never pinpointed the memory limit, so that helps. 

I generally would hide/remove/change the objects in the scene until it would render.   Usually turning off texture filtering would do the trick - but there was a risk of trans-mapped hair looking awful.

Also, there were times I could kill poser, restart and be able to render the scene, so I usually give that a try.   As you say, you can tell right away if it's not going to work - shows background color, poser window min/maxes quickly etc.

Not sure, but I've seen similar when the hip object has been re-scaled, but the two buttock objects have not - as when using the "fashion model" height. Try setting the buttocks using the same shape/scale morphs.

I've noticed in p5 if I turn IK on while a foot or hand is selected, I'll need to select another object, then come back to the original to see the XYZ dials - essentially 'refresh' the parameter dial window.

I have much better luck using 'Esc' to cancel - never use the button anymore. Sometimes still locks - but better...

if it's only re-scaling, you can copy the parameter settings from one object to another. -copy-load new object-paste-then move new object as xyz will copy/paste as well

I've noticed it happening if I render too many times, regardless of quality settings, firefly or P4, it will hang eventually. The number of renders I get seems dependent of scene size, but even a simple scene will hang after a certain number of renders.

I've taken to periodically saving and shutting down Poser - seems to help, if I remember.

Is it a prop or a picture? if a pic, instead of using it as a background picture, use it as a texture on the one-sided square prop. Shadows should appear on that.

Can't help other than to say that I'm having the same problem. Lost 10-12 hours work last night when P5 corrupted the .pz3 during save. I checked the file in wordpad, and it looks like the save cut off somewhere in the middle (not a .pz3 expert, but the final line is cut mid-statement).

The worst part about this is that it happens though (or even because) I dutilfully save my work. I guess now I'm supposed to back-up my back-up. Thanks again, CL.

Very, very frustrating....

I've had the white screen as well, and if the re-render doesn't work, sometimes I can clear the problem by changing to another room, then back to Pose.

I've found that when using dual monitors in the Materials room, selecting a material from a file will cause an error where the file selection window does not appear correctly; almost as if it's behind the main window and can't achieve mouse focus. This particular error only happens when I've spread the work area across both monitors.

I had this happen when I tweaked my virtual memory pagefile. You might want to check that - should be 2.5 times physical memory (I think? someone probably knows better)

I believe it's to be released on the 30th (tomorrow)
