Thread: Vue Environment Editor help please | Forum: Vue
Hey Rutra,
I followed your instructions, added the environment map, then made the illumination and reflection map seperate, subsequently deleting the background environment map, which turned the whole backdrop black with the object still lit, so thanks for the help there.
However the problem I am experiencing now is when rendering the scene and saving the image. What I want is to be able to save the image so the background is transparent. Then I can use a completely different layered image as a backdrop. Although the backdrop has been deleted in Vue, the black background is still seen as part of the image. I tried inverting it, which turned the backdrop white and setting up the render for object only, but this has not solved the problem for matting out the background or making it transparent. Any suggestions? Â

Thanks for the reply both of you.
I am using Vue 6 xstream version.
Rutra by loading the backdrop and then deleting it will the object in the scene still be lit by the backdrop?
What I want to achieve is lighting objects in a scene, rendering and then exporting as a TGA without the hassle of then rotoscoping the background image out. If I placed a plane behind the object and made it completely black then maybe I could matte it out? However if the backdrop is deleted and still my scene object is lit perhaps that would be the best way, as the background would just be black. I will have a fiddle.
Cheers Guys

I am more concerned now with Victoria 4 and mimic support. Is there any?Â
I downloaded some Phoneme's from dragon something or other, but that is not Mimic.

Ok it works now, so I conclude that it was the other box that needed unselecting.Â
You brought this to my attention, so thanks you very much.

Thanks for the reply,
Yes I believe that the head morphs do cover expressions as well, but I did also add expressions seperately before thinking that it may be that, but stil know joy.
I also read the same advice about unchecking those boxes, but i did not uncheck both of them only one was unchecked by default, so I will try that in a minute a let you know if it works.Â
I know Poser 7 is not the issue as its worked fine before with the same version.Â
Cheers
Let you know how I get along.Â

Thanks again.

Oh right i did not realize they were that large, but obviously glad to hear that you can make larger textures. Do you have BUMP maps included with you M3 German Soldier model?

mrsparky considering you have first hand knowledge of the actual products that is always promising. I do like the Nazi models by adh3d and as you said the texture maps could be updated, although i was hoping for a more speedy approach, as i want to make animations not still images, so i was hoping that i would not have to concern myself with modeling and texturing. However i don't like the look of the US airborne troopers it may be the actual colour of the unifrom and the ammount of pockets and squared padding on the lower legs, seems to give the charachter more of an oblong feel. It would be better if the trousers were borken up from the jacket, like the nazi creating some contrast, but that is only my opinion. Thanks for the advice.Â
ranman i downloaded a couple of the free vanishingpoint models yesterday. They are not bad at all for a free model. i must sound like a stuck record, but they are not suitable for CU's. It's a great site though a lot of good models, especially for verhicles, just like gunpoint 3d. You said you have an updated version of the model, what exactly have you updated?
adh3d glad to see you replying to this post. You said you were making new Allie and Axis unifroms, will they be higher res textures this time?
Infinity 10 thanks a lot i will check wardrobe wizard out.

Infinity 10 the first link you have given me has some useful jackets and boots, could not see any trousers though, unless they are buddled in with the boots or jacket. They will do fine for LS's, but not CU's. You said about conversion software, any ideas about what software to use?
I checked that poserclub, but could not access the market only the downloads section, which i presume is free? i did not see anything that caught my eye on a quick browse. Althought what do you expect with anything that is free.Â
What has become apparent in all of the help i have been given so far is the lack of US uniforms. I am not doing to badly with the German soldiers, all i really could do with now is a hi res version of the wehrmacht soldier., but i do not see any US uniforms so far that are really any good for world war 2, except adh3d's airborne for LS's. Sam that is an excellent link you have given me for Batlab's German Soldier Officer Uniform. That quality is exactly what i am looking for. It would just be nice if i could find a uniform of this caliber for a US soldier and a regular German infantry soldier to complete what i need.Â
mrsparky again your links have been very insightful. The vietnam unifrom is not quite what i am looking for, although yes it bares similarities. The uniform for M2 is not high quality enough. The other unifroms again are fantastic for distance shots, but do not quite fit the bill for close ups. If i could find those exact us and german unifroms made by adh3d, but higher res that is what i need. It may be that no uniforms of this quality exist, but if anyone reading this thread begs to differ then please enlighten me.Â
Parkled i am not after Russian uniforms, Just US and German, but if you know of this vendor that person may cater for other armies?
cheers guys for all the responses it's useful.

Thanks for replying guys.
Stallion that is a useful link you have given me. I am sure i can make use of some of these uniforms, so thanks a lot.Â
thefixer i am aware of the vogel packs designed by thunderr, which i have been considering for long distance low poly shots, but for the close up shots i need something with higer textures, that is why i need M3 pacific uniforms. Thanks for pointing it out none the less.Â
cheers guys and if anyone else can point me towards more resources for m3 Allies and Axis comforming uniforms that would be great.
