Thread: Dressing GND2 (by Blackhearted) using Tailor (1.6) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Oh the i think Tailor1.1 is simply to old. On my machine Tailor 1.5 and 1.6 works with GND2. One thing Tailor also dose not like are some texturemaps, then you have to save the figure or dress without textures for tailoring. Hope it helps ;-))

For P5/6 i would suggest to get al least 3GB RAM, so Poser can use the whole 2GB XP allows for each process. A celeron is also not good for rendering since the mathprocessor is missing. A regular P4 or Athlon 64 would be a better choice. For P4 the 5xx series is ok P6 does not make use of Hyperthreading and XP64. For the future a 6xx or 8xx would be better.
Thread: P6 question - rendering against background image | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
IMO the better way to use backgroundimages is to texture a simple box and scale it to the desired size. This lets you use a skydome needfull for reflective surfaces.

With older versions of the Tailor you have to save the character with Poser5, it will not work with P6. Tailor 1.6 works well with P6, anyway fittige clothes to GND2 is a lot of work since she do not hve a fullbody morph. All parts must be tailored individually.

I use both workflows, Daves for morphinjections and Pauls for correcting the bad joints i can not morph away with the PLH method after posing. Subdividing works well with PLH, but you have to go back to subd1 before exporting, so the subd detail-advantage is lost anyway. For small details subd and create a displacement map is fine...
Thread: Best Modelling Program to Compliment Poser? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
In Zb you can form meshes like forming clay with your hands, select the tool and brush the form with the wacom, very easy to learn. And you can paint textures direkt on the mesh and expost as texture and displacementmaps for rendering in other 3D programms. In typical 3D Modelling programs Meshes are build with mathematical tools like nurbs and splines, input is more in form of typing in numbers after selecting the polygones you want to form. It is more accurate, but not so easy and creative. Hope this answers your question..;-)) Since i have ZB i will never bye an character again, making custom morphs for Poser is a breeze. So it is worth the money...

I would suggest to get ZBrush for organic forms and Shade8 for technical modells. Both are availible for Mac. If you dont care about money, C4DXL bundle is better than Shade.
Thread: How to master dramatic lighting | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
IMO if you tranfer lightsetups from real photo studios plus one IBL set to 10-40% intensity it works like the real thing. I am doing both, photographie and renders. I even use sometimes silver reflectors or black lightblockers made from simple boxes. A good start is the fashion studio from DAZ. The lights are parented to flash light props there, it is fantastic! Comes with an very good tutorial.
