Thread: Realistic recourse when someone uses your work commercially without permission? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
My suggestion would be to post a thread about this on rpg.net the members over there hate it when things like this go on and the negative publicity it will garner for the publisher will tarnish their reputation for a long time to come.
Also you will almost certainly get help in contacting the publisher if you ask, it is a good community that has taken issue with things like this in the past.
Thread: What About Carrara? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Thanks, everyone. Good advice all-around.
Vadrus, I found a great vidoe tutorial on shading eyes in Carrara. It is by an artist here named JT411. If you go to his Renderosity home page there is a link.
Thanks :)
Thread: What About Carrara? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm another that started with Poser and then tried out Carrara and found it seems to suit me better. Being able to do almost everything in one program without having to learn different interfaces and workflows is great for the lazy hobbiest like myself.
Still at an early stage of learning with it though, just wish there was a Carrara version of BB to get shader advice from! Driving myself nuts at the moment trying to work out decent shaders for eyes to get realistic reflections in the right parts of the eye.
Thread: Benchmarking | Forum: Carrara
Intel i7 860 @2.80GHz
8GB Ram
Win 7 Pro 64
In Carrara 8 Pro (64 bit) it took 11 mins 13 secs
In Carrara 7 Pro (32 bit) it took 5 mins 4 secs
Yep, something weird going on here.

Thread: Shaders for Dynamic Hair? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I did do, most of the ones I downloaded seem to use the basic poser hair shader and still looks like wire wool unfortunately.

Thread: print quality renders | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thing is both sides are sort of right in this arguement (at least in poser 8 and pp2010, the only versions I have used).
You can either set an image size in pixels in which case dpi is not specifically used or you can set a size in inches and a corresponding dpi setting, I have tried both and both work, it just depends on which basis you prefer.
Hope that helps.

Thread: Questions about organising Runtimes | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks for the advice all, I've tried carefully renaming one or two folders and all seems OK so far :)
Creating several larger runtimes i.e. V4 Characters, V4 Clothes, Props, Sets, etc and just renaming a few things i.e. where an expansion set has a different name than it parent clothes or hair to make it quicker and easier to find things.
And yay it's the weekend, I can finally have a serious go at finding out how much better this new machine is than my old one. It's an i7-860 processor with 8 gig of fast ram, Windows 7 pro 64, etc, the few small test renders I've managed so far were so quick I can't stop grinning!
