What I have just done is:
And voila: Eventually the legacy DAZ Horse Carousel HAS the correct P4 Horse geometry to make it seemingly function correctly ! Hallelujah !
Thread: Download of the Poser 4 Horse itself | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The DAZ Horse Carousel
1. is a legacy item which is NOT sold anymore by DAZ
2. does need the legacy P4 Horse; which was probably never sold by DAZ itself ...
Since I own the legacy DAZ Horse Carousel and still like it, I created this thread ...
Thread: Download of the Poser 4 Horse itself | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
This Poser Horse CAN be used with the DAZ Carousel; BUT: It doesn't work properly !
See the Screen Shot of the DAZ Carousel Rocker in the file attached to this thread.
I would be quite sad if I can't use the legacy DAZ Carousel properly ! Therefore, I will probably contact SmithMicro and point them to this thread !
Thanks for Your efforts !

Hello Phil !
I have Poser Pro installed; and additionally several Poser Legacy Content Packs; but alone: The P4 Horse has NEVER been installed on my machine.
So I've searched high and low for the P4 Horse ! And got aware that I'm not alone with this search ... Others have already given up to ever get access to the P4 horse ...
If there a legal issues to make this old horse available: Does it perhaps make sense to contact SmithMicro - the owner company of Poser - directly ?
Cheers and Tschüss

Thread: Overall UI Color/Skin: How can one change it ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have attached a screenshot of Poser Pro; perhaps You can tell me if Your Poser Pro UI looks quite the same ?
Thread: Overall UI Color/Skin: How can one change it ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
What I have done now:
Changed the background color of the main window and the document window like so:
- Select 'Paint Bucket/Color' Tool and proceed like Phil describes it
Changed the appearance of dedicated windows - e.g. of the animation palette window - like so:
- Brightened the colors of all the .psd files in Runtime/ui like pjz99 describes it
BUT: I am still NOT satisfied with my Poser Pro UX ! There's still so much brown-like colour in the UI ! And the look of the animation bar at the bottom of the main window has not changed at all ! It's difficult for me to hit the right buttons ...
So yes: Can anybody tell us about how to accomplish a complete skin change ? Or is it just me who has problems with the default UX ?
Another question: Do the newest Poser (Pro) versions support a decent UX - all controls are at least clearly recognizable - out of the box ?
Thread: Making polygon hair with pony tail dynamic | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

Hello thread readers: The thread addition above should have gone directly to Ali as a site mail; please excuse ...Thread: Making polygon hair with pony tail dynamic | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Attached Link: Making polygon hair with pony tail dynamic
Hello Ali !Thanks for responding ! But I couldn't achieve better results using the overhauled .obj file ...
Ideal it would be if - based on the head movement - the provided hair morphs would be triggered automatically; but I don't know of any approach for that scenario ...
Please take a look at the attached Renderosity Poser Forum Thread !
If You could provide the hair geometry with such an invisible string builtin, that could perhaps really help !
Cheers and Tschüss

Here comes the link to the hair: http://www.mankahoo.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=46I have taken the approach of one constrained group - everything but the pony tail -, and one dynamic group - the whole pony tail; BUT: The pony tail gets decomposed ...
The hair has some morph targets built in; but I don't know an approach which can leverage those morph targets automatically to synchronize the pony tail movement with the head movement ...
Thread: Clothify Animation: How to export ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
To me, one main attraction of DAZ Studio is its relatively new, integrated Decimator Plugin; it allows me to do Polygon Reduction on figures in a way that preserves animations, morphs, etc.; another workflow of mine is: Export .obj files from Poser for each keyframe of an animation; then do polygon reduction on these .obj files using standalone 3rd party polygon reducers; BUT: The polygon-reduced .obj files have very probably NOT the same vertex count and order; the DAZ Studio Decimator allows me to export polygon-reduced .obj files which have exactly the same vertex count and order ... That's why I'm so keen on importing Clothify Animation into DAZ Studio, too ... Maybe importing a series of Poser-exported .obj files could be a way to go ...
Thread: Export Wavefront OBJ - Multi frame export - Frame Range: every nth frame possibl | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
New enlightenment: I don't need 'Multiframe Export' in this case; the 'Export' function exports the current keyframe object automatically !
So I've set
And all keyframe models are output automatically !
Thread: Export Wavefront OBJ - Multi frame export - Frame Range: every nth frame possibl | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have something rudimentary in place - having used the existing python script 'PythonposerscriptsRenderControlexport.py' as a blueprint ...
BUT: Multiframe Export doesn't seem to function from script:
When I call
myExportObject.Export('obj', 'File Format Wavefront', '/Keyframes/Keyframe.obj', exportOptions)
with
exportOptions[poser.kExOptCodeMULTIFRAME] = 0
then the current figure is output
When I call the same method with
exportOptions[poser.kExOptCodeMULTIFRAME] = 1
then NOTHING happens ...
My script IS actually cruising the keyframes of the current animation, but the Multiframe Export method is not working properly ... A known bug ?
